  1. I've been building for quite a while...40ish years...have I learned to build better models? Yup. Have my skills improved? Yup. Are they perfect? Nope. Do I mess them up (not on purpose) sometimes? Yup. Do I still love building models? Yup! Who do I build for? ME! I love that I can share the models I build here. Do I care if you like them? No. Is it cool when you do? You bet! Does it matter either way? Not really. Have fun building. When you make mistakes (you will) try to learn from it, and learn how to fix it. But have fun doing it. DanielG's buddy Nolan has a great attitude towards building. It's awesome to him. THAT is awesome all by itself. I hope you enjoy the hobby in a way that give you satisfaction, relaxation, a wonderful escape, or all of the above. (Dr. Cranky gets my vote for having the most fun building though!!)
  2. Nice start there, Dr. C!! Keep 'er going!!
  3. The 1:1 has different tires front and back - the top seem to match the back, and the bottom seem to match the front...so I guess it's a wash!!
  4. Thanks, Roger!
  5. Ditto!
  6. Thanks for posting that, Neal!

    Thanks, Jeff!
  11. So glad I could help, Brian!!
  12. Or a rear mounted Corvair H6 with Twin Turbos (or hot-rodded Porsche, or VW engine). That big V8 would need some room up front. With the engine out back behind the driver, the narrowing of body and frame wouldn't limit space as much as the space ahead of the firewall needed for an engine, especially a V8. If you had to keep the motive power out front, you'd have to look at an inline engine, 6 cyl or maybe 8 cyl...

"Crazy 'bout a Mercury...I'm gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road!" Beautiful!! Can't wait to see it in colour!
  15. It's coming along great. I like the concept, and you have a clear set of parameters that you chose...Fabulous!!
  16. Looking great Doc! Keep it going!! Thanks for the vids, too! Along with LONG LIVE RUST, AND GUNK...Remember...RUST NEVER SLEEPS!! (and RUST IS A COLOUR!)
  17. Thanks Robert...I'll look forward to seeing you progress through your dio. It's a fun process, and hard to believe I've been working on this for nearly 3 years! Nice change of pace, and I'm always looking for background junk and such!! My initials "TT" when signing them look kind of like a "77", and I actually got the name of a long gone local drive in wrong when I lettered that!! I'm glad it exists somewhere!! I could have sworn it was Skyview... It was actually called Auto Sky Drive In and it closed in 1981, and a housing development was built in it's place.
  18. I was just looking at my deadline list of current builds (that have deadlines!), and realized I'm waiting on a sheet of BMF!! Follow up time!! Either that or I'm raiding the kitchen foil!!
  19. Thanks, Tony...Hope you can get back to yours soon!!
  20. Thanks, Sam! I like the dio for a background...easy to set up! Thanks, Charlie!
