    66 Nova SS

Thanks, Robert! That's why I built this - so I had a backdrop to take pics of my models! Plus it works as a change of pace, too!!
  4. Thanks, guys!
  5. What an ambitious project!! Looking good so far!!
  6. Keep 'er going there Doc! Looking good, er, bad, er...fantastic!!
  7. Thanks, Tony! Yes, do get back to yours!!
  8. Very nice!!
  9. Sure looks like wood that has been out in the elements! Nicely done!
  10. Harry is right...you are having so much fun doing this!! Thanks for showing the salting process...gotta give that a try soon...
  11. I got this a couple of years ago off eBay with a Union VW Gasser and a trailer, both built up. I rebuilt the Gasser a while ago, and this wagon was hanging around my bench since then. Since I had been working on a 66 Nova rebuild, I dug this one out, cleaned it up, repainted the interior from gloss red to flat blue, left the engine out, and glued the hood shut (metal front axle, 4 promo like locator posts for the body to chassis join) so it is a curbside. Grabbed a set of tires and Cragar wheels from the parts box, and here is a nice support vehicle. I need to fashion a trailer hitch, but another time...so, I have another one off the bench that has been languishing for a while...
  12. Added a few bits and pieces to the back ground... Hubcaps Lantern, toolbox, and hoods More hoods Rail lamp post (I haven't tried to power it yet-needs a bulb)

    66 Nova SS

I'll take it as my first finished model of 2011!! Bought as a built-up in December, and took it apart and made a beater out of it. Before: After:
  14. I finished the 66 Nova...what a bucket of bolts!! Still got some more miles left in her though!
  15. That is great!! Love it!!
  16. Lookin' good C! Gotta get some dirt and wear on there!!
  17. The wheels and tires look amazing!! Fabulous work there!! What did you use for the white lettering on the tires?
  18. On the bench today! AMT 66 Nova - Bought as a built up, took it apart, and did some weathering Before: After:
  19. Well, I took the 66 Nova apart, and gave it a bit of a weathering job, and will reassemble as a still-driven beater. Humbrol rust, smeared some home-made rust (thanks, Seb from Model Junk Yard for the recipe!), gave it a bit of a sanding, and a rub down, flat red on the hood...added some rust colour and weathering to the interior and the chassis as well...not bad so far!!
  20. Looks like a great concept! Can't wait to see more!
  21. Holy Shamoly!! Keep it going, there Dr. C! You got my attention again! Hey - I am over a week behind in my Dr. Cranky Video viewing...gotta find time to catch up!!
  22. I'm in the south end of Ottawa...would be a bit of a hike for me, especially in winter months. I'm about 3.5 to 4 hours drive one way, I think.
  23. Sun Aug 21 in Gatineau QC, across the river from Ottawa. http://www.modelbear.../entrancee.html (click on Contest at the top, then the brochure) There is a show in Kingston, in May I think.
  24. '53 Ford pick up...most nostalgic (the only model my Dad helped me build!), and the fact there were custom parts, tools, and welding tanks! I bought a re-issue from a few years ago, and haven't built it yet. The first one I rebuilt 3 times, and I still have it in the last iteration I built it in from about 35 years ago!!
  25. Nice to see you back around, Romell!
