Awesome start! It will be sharp with the silver stripes over that blue.

Well BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. I used 5 minute epoxy to attach the Tupperware parts and one piece peeled off today. Hmph. I tested another one and it peeled off too. Speed i took all of it off and sanded the body and parts, then washed everything. While rinsing one piece floated out of my hand and right down the drain 😳 I pulled the trap in hopes of it being there, but it's gone.

Good Luck and have Fun!

I think by removing the lower trim, and adding an upper piece you could break up the profile some.
-
Someone mentioned moving the trim on the side. I just doodled on my phone, as I'm curious about the trim on the Hudson I have in the works. I am in no way, shape, or form, considered an "artist". I can't draw a stick figure.

Did someone say Carolina BBQ????? Love some smoked Brisket!!!!! Eastern style or Western style sauce? Neither! If you cook it correctly you don't need it! Loving this build Dude! The tail lights are KILLER! May I inquire about the brand body filler you're using?

Yep, electroluminescence. It's a phosphorus paint that reacts to high voltage(230v ac) and is absolutely beautiful at night. Hideaway Headlights(I make my living rebuilding/restoring headlight motors and wiper motors, etc www.headlightmotorman.com)

Thank You. No, mine is a '67. '66s have the full length console. It's a 383 4 speed car. I've had her for 35 years.

I like the wide/narrow look on a muscle car. I run 255/60 15 on the rear and 235/60 15 on the front of my 1:1 car. I can put 275/60s on the rear with no modifications, I just need wider rims.

Good looking start!

Keep going!

It's looking good Dude. I expect Winfield, Barris, Hines, and Watson all stood back at one time and said "Meh, I don't like that" and made changes.

I appreciate your offer. I'm digging how this is turning out. I'm going to add hinges to the top and have it as a hatchback style section. I'm not(never really been) a ground effects fan. This leans itself towards the sketch though.

Cool project. I was hoping to see a patina Olive Drab Monsterfied ET Chaser 😁 Back in '86 I worked at a full service Phillips 66 station. A guy came in driving a '63 Chevy II SS car with a 4 cylinder and 3 speed on the floor. He was 6' 8" and I couldn't believe he fit in it! Those are cool cars.

Making Door & Hood Hinges
TopherMcGinnis replied to Fullauto-1966's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
There are lots of great How-To instructions in this thread! I'm definitely going to employee hinges in future builds! I came to a wall with hinging suicide doors on a '66 Chevy truck. I tried a few different versions of hinges, but kept running into the door and body rubbing due to the shape of the body. I didn't see any references to opening the doors on this style truck anywhere. How do I overcome this obstacle? -

I saw this rendering on Instagram and immediately thought "That needs to be built!" So, I ordered up a kit and got started. My friend had a Tim Richmond Monte Carlo that happily donated its rear glass for the cause. I've cut the body out so the glass doesn't look like it's just stuck there. I had the extra tub for the Lincoln Continental kit to convert it to a wagon. With a little cutting it fit perfectly. I'll be using the wide body parts and have a set of wheels that match the picture just right. I'm shooting to be finished for a show in January.
