  1. Cool! Thank you for the tips!
  2. THAT is sharp!
  3. The coupe was a killer build! Yours is looking good! I've got a GTX kit I'm not going to use the decals from. You're more than welcome to them.
  4. Cool project! Even cooler that you got to drive one!
  5. The frame detail is AWESOME!
  6. The lighter blue SCREAMS '60s to me.
  7. That's a great idea about letting her pick the color.
  8. @Ace-Garageguy & @M W Elky Thank You for your reference photos. I'm not digging the "way back" position at all. I'll straighten this out when I'm back home. @Ace-Garageguy I'm looking forward to trying it. I was just watching a couple of videos on YouTube about gradient painting. This guy makes it look real easy. https://youtu.be/WOds7UCdGuU?si=B_vcnO8P3AM7kjye
  9. Doing more research on the front axles placement. Maybe it's how the engineer designed it to look for the kit? I'm going to attempt a paint job similar to the gold one.
  10. What are your thoughts on the gold glue? Where did you find the markers? The car looks great!
  11. One thing you can do with your flocking is use the same color paint as the flocking used. Paint a section, then put the flocking on. That way if there's a light spot, it's hard to tell.
  12. I picked up some Alclad Black Chrome I'm going to try on something soon.
  13. Those look good painted with Molotow chrome.
  14. I absolutely LOVE a 5 window!
  15. We are road tripping this week. I brought 2 kits and 3 engines to build while parked in the evening. I built one of these for my Daughter In Law last year for her office. I really like this kit. I am going to make a few changes though. I dropped the front end and may drop the rear a tad. I've got a a blown big block Chevy from ICEMAN for Projext X, so the Blown 392 may find it's way into this one...or, a dual plug Hemi for some REAL go fast! I got to visit with Rob Ida on Friday. Super nice guy! He has his Willys he built in his show room.
  16. I'm thinking the same thing. It'll have to wait until I'm back in the Plasti-Shak and have all of my tools within arms reach.
  17. I put the springs/axles in their locating spots. This side rear looks right, but the front axle looks too far rrearward.then, looking at some reference photos, it looks to be in the right-ish position. Could it be because of the high arch springs?
  18. Hmmm.....maybe not?????
  19. We've been bee-bopping around the New England area for the past week. On this trip I broke out the Coke Willys Gasser. This guy has required some time to make everything fit. I got the cab and hood to sit at a reasonable level by shimming the cab. I also put a length of .060 half round around the cab to give the interior tub a "stop". Ive got a stacked 572 I want to put in it-I think the horns peaking through the hood will be killer. I'm thinking about a Winfield style fade paint job-Pearl White with a Pearl Green "fade" and green accents. Now, is it me, or is the front axle too far back????
  20. When it's right, it's right.....and you've got it RIGHT! Love it!
  21. W O W!!!!! SUPERB CRAFTSMANSHIP!
  22. Awesome build! That car was in Carlisle 10 or so years ago. What a sight!
  23. Beautiful work Dude!
