Paint Shack Saturday Night! I must say, MCW paints are AWE SOME! The colors are Spot On. Here's the Coronet in her Turquoise dress. I used Alclad Klear. I really like lacquer paints. I'll let it sit a bit then see how much buffing needs done.

What paints are you using?

I've got the upper control arms mounting figured out. Hacked the frame and lengthened it 1/8" to get the front wheels more centered in the wheel wells. The back seat fitted with the tubs as well.

I love that old tin! It's amazing how small they are! That will be awesome when finished!

Here's the preliminary mock up. In the Tradition of our Beloved X, here's a Blown Hemi sitting in the engine compartment. It's not glued in place, so keep your pants on. I wanted to get a feel for a '60s Blown Fueler Vibe. Can't you just see Baskervilke wringing his hands in Excitement looking at this????? I used one of the '66 Nova chassis to put those wide wheels in the rear. Still PLENTY of carving and gluing to do....

I restore wiper motors for a living(www.headlightmotorman.com), and as I was perusing the Big Rig section, I remarked that some guys are SERIOUSLY talented with their detail work. Running lines, harnesses, putting the tubes on the condenser, and even putting studs on to put nuts on to hold cables! My wife said "Why don't you make a wiper motor for the one you're building?" I said that most of the cars have them molded to the firewall. So I pulled this out to look, and it's nowhere CLOSE to resembling a correct B Body firewall! What to do? What to do? Most of you guys are SERIOUSLY talented!

Sharp! What brand of paint are you using?

I'm with you. Being a '70s and '80s kid, it was a GREAT time for a young fella to work at a Phillips 66 station! These cars were sill being driven! The owner of the station had a few '63 Impalas. SS hardtop, and a convertible as well as a 9 passenger wagon. Good times!

Not like I "NEEDED" another '57 in the stash, BUT, when a sedan jumps out at you and you start remembering ALL of the cool articles Popular Hot Rodding did with that car back in the '70s and '80s......MAN!!!!!! What a cool car!!!!! Let's see some Project X builds!

We're in Chesapeake for a couple of days. I like to build while we're on trips(I'm away from my work bench and need something to do). I sat down and spent some time with this kit last night. Not super detailed, but I think if I get my paint right, it'll look good on the shelf ?
