We're in Chesapeake for a couple of days. I like to build while we're on trips(I'm away from my work bench and need something to do). I sat down and spent some time with this kit last night. Not super detailed, but I think if I get my paint right, it'll look good on the shelf ?

Since we're on the subject, where are some good places to get aftermarket detail parts for these trucks?

Well, you see, what had happened in my mind was.... My original plan was to paint the truck the same color as the Chevelle(in memory of the one i had in the '80s) and park them side by side. Both are '72s, so....anyways I asked my buddy(big NASCAR fan) if he had an extra side exit exhaust as I thought that would look cool. He brought me an old kit he wasn't interested in finishing and the rest of the story is on the shelf. I'm almost to the point of installing that side exit exhaust.

My original plan was to paint these 2 the same color(Mohave Gold Metallic). As cool as that would be, I think they'll look better side by side this way.

I have been tasked by a Friend to build a kit strictly out of the box. No aftermarket parts, and no kit bashing or robbing of parts from other kits. Ill crack this girl open this coming week. Anyone in the Chesapeake Bay area?

Got the radiator in place and some chrome parts painted with Molotow.

Painted the headliner and sail panels semi gloss black. And painted some chromey bits with Molotow.

This was one of the 1st cars I airbrushed. Its also the 1st one i polished on. It's a pretty easy kit to build. Another one that has endless possibilities. I got one of the Lazy Modeller flame masks and a scallop mask for a couple other kits in the stash.

Does anyone else bounce from project to project while paint/glue/interests dry? Making some progress on my Chevelle tribute. The spinners bring back some FANTASTIC memories. The interior color is spot on. I flocked the carpet. Some more detailing and this Girl will go on the shelf, hopefully alongside the the A.
