Awesome build! That car was in Carlisle 10 or so years ago. What a sight!

Do you have an airbrush? It'd be easier to accomplish with one. Some of the best advice I've ever received was PRACTICE PRACTICE AND PRACTICE MORE! A good friend of mine does airbrushes graphics, draws and pinstriping, I've watched him for hours. I would LOVE to be half that talented! One day I'm watching him pin stripe a truck and we're talking, and he says "Do you know the FIRST thing I learned about striping?" I said "no" he looked at me dead in the eye and said "How to wipe it off" Point being, it takes practice to achieve a goal on a regular basis. This is a picture he drew of a picture of my car for me.

I dig it! I always loved his sketches! I couldn't wait to open the magazine at the mailbox to see his latest rendering.

Put some grease on the 5th wheel, there's a load in the yard that needs to roll. Awesome build! -
Beautiful details! You must have the patience of a saint.

Since I'm in "wait on parts" mode, I think i need to bring Mr. Hudson back down off the shelf. I'm going to shoot for a pearl purple in the sheen of the '49. I ordered this book off Amazon. I'm going to read through it and see what I can put into practice ?

Those actually look right at home just like that.

Between chasing "bench squirrels" as @Bullybeef calls them, and work, Stitches was pushed aside. Driveshaft has been fabbed as well as a new steering shaft. Ill get these painted and then the engine can be installed permanently. -

There are some very nice resin suppliers out there. I've bought a bunch of Jay's wheels off Ebay. Super nice quality. Ice Man has killer engines. Are you thinking Black everything, or maybe black-cherry, or black with a blue hue? -
Thank you for the detailed explanation. I'm not a painter by profession, and did not realize the 2k clears are safe for the acrylics. I tried it on a whim and it turned out great.

I painted one with Createx, cleared with Tamiya and it reacted. I dunked it in purple stuff, the paint would all come off. I used brake fluid and it took all of the paint off. Cleaned it with Dawn dish soap and have it primered with MCW lacquer primer. I need to sand it one more time to make smooth for for paint.
