  1. I don't know if you all know about this but Mr Iskenderian is still alive he would be 100 years old today the father of racing cams and so is his business.
  2. I think you did a beautiful job on this triumph the detail is very sweet it almost looks as if you could walk up and climb on. I new people had them growing up in the fifties.
  3. Here also is some of the other work I've done. The furniture is 1/12 scale the two end tables are only 7/8 of an inch tall and yes they do fold the circle is a Celtic design it's a rosette for a musical instrument.
  4. NOBLNG thank you for the comment I will tell you the fenders I did make up but in the back of my mind I was picturing about a 1937 Ford or Chevrolet pickup back fenders. If you notice the bottom half of the fenders follow the lines of the body the tail lights I was trying to copy what a 54 Chevrolet tail light look like but unfortunately it didn't turn out that way I didn't have a 54 to look at. Also here's two more photos of something I forgot to put in.
  5. I think all of you for your replies believe me this project was a blast to build the front suspension was all brass tubing and cut and silver soldered together the exhaust was aluminum and that was rather tricky to bend and tried to prevent kinks.
  6. ESPO thanks for the compliment! This kit has fought me all the way through the interior pod doesn't fit right there's no way to glue it in on the back side so I'm going to have to make amount for it to fit the rims to wide for the body I'm putting stock tires on it with the mags. I'm building this the way I remember 60 Corvettes look like on the streets back then I'm doing it in an everyday used vehicle and not a showpiece.
  7. I wish the photos were in order. ?
  8. How to build a Teardrop Trailer Starting with the illustrations the plastic for the chassis came from the parts tree from the 51 Chevy the rest of it is all wood with copper wire. Skill level between 1 to 10 a about 12 you have to know steam bending wood for this job. Was it hard for me no it was just a little bit more involved than I thought I have all the other skills. No power tools were used in both builds it took me two years to do both.
  9. I just recently bought this kit I originally bought it for another kit the motor I wanted a Rochester fuel injection system but after I open the kit and took a look at it I decided not to use it for this other kit I was going to build it. Here are some photos after it's been painted and a clear coat put on it. I remember when this kit first came out I bought it at that time I thought it was a pretty neat kit the only thing I didn't like is the way they designed the axles that go through the motor and I really didn't care the way the top half of the motor went together this is definitely old AMT. I did use DupliColor paint

  11. Your car brings back old memory I remember when this kit came out I must have bought eight of them in my time and I recently bought a new one. Welcome aboard
  12. Thank you folks! As soon as I can figure out how to work this app I will be posting a lot of stuff. Like the build of Black Sapphire the trailer the Nova and even the Corvette.
  13. I did this back in the '80s while I was in college it was supposed to be a stash box I argued with the professor about doing this Hot Rod he said there was no artistic value and besides where are you going to get the parts to build this and how do you know what size the wheels would be this was easy because I'd been building models and creating cars since the late 50s at the boys club they're also was a hobby store right across from the college which I had been doing business with since the early 60s in fact the owner of the hobby shop talk me into entering my very first model car show I didn't take first place or second or third Best in show with the 57 Thunderbird when it was first released back in the early 60s. If you understand the story behind the outlaw coupe this is the car where the guy died in a fiery crash because they couldn't get him out of any of the windows or the doors wouldn't open at the Santa Ana drag strip back in fifties in Southern California. Needless to say when I handed it in and when they had a student show in the showcase there was my coupe up in front I received an A he really liked it. I do not know if this is the right category but it is a drag racing Hot rod from the early 50s.
  14. Hi I have been building since 1958 and collecting kits to in 2015 I made my first post with black sapphire a 51 Chevy hardtop I wanted to create a 58 to 62 style street custom a cruiser C/Gasser a car he got for a graduation present and the changes it went through in its life. I fabricated a lot of the parts except for carbs, linkage, bell air cleaners and a distributor kit I fabricated the intake manifold the racing headers, Hollywood wolf whistle, 45 record player from a JC Whitney catalog add,a 45 record box case full of 45s and the heater underneath the dashboard. It took me a year to build this car I finished it and it didn't seem finished while cutting up the tree for parts it came to me would it needed and it was something I said I was going to build one of these days and I finally did it it was a Teardrop Trailer which has not been seen yet on the internet one of these days I will put Black Sapphire in the trailer on YouTube Black Sapphire is on YouTube the trailer was taken from full scale illustrations from old magazines from the '50s this trailer is very complete as if all you had to do was load it full of groceries and bedding and hook it up to the car and head for the nearest beach to where you could spend a weekend surfing even a surfboard. I'm working on two kits right now a 66 Chevyll Nova SS a Grandpa car and a 60 Corvette. What I've read so far that has been posted I seen some really interesting things going on like using foil for the car chrome on some of the cars and wishing I could get a DupliColor paint chart that shows what the current colors that are available my 66 I had a automotive paint store mix up for me because I was not happy with the colors available I wanted an original color from GM the Corvette I used DupliColor. I hope to hear any comments on my stuff l have posted.
