  1. Hub caps arrived today. Bought a set of Parts by Parks Dog Dish Hub Caps. Perfect for the dog days of summer. I think they work better then the wheel covers. WDYT?
  2. Is this the one you're talking about? Bought it off eBay a while back. It's rather crude. Gonna take a CRAZY amount of work.
  3. Interesting idea, I'll follow to see where it goes. I also find it interesting that the box art show a Galaxie Police car following the Mustang. AMT makes the Galaxie in a Bond theme. Can we get Revell to do the same????
  4. Sam, been there, done that. It may be subtle but I already chopped the top on my coupe. ☺️ I actually have a resin 4-door sedan body as well as a 3-D printed 39, so I guess I'm not done yet. I must be crazy?
  5. Thanks Dennis, appreciate it.
  6. Thanks Greg, feel like I’m finally making some progress.
  7. Thanks Jim, but I was able to come up with one. Maybe when I build my next '41 Plymouth....in my next lifetime.? Now back to our regularly scheduled grill.
  8. Looks good ? You are right about those headlights, they look too clear. Have to go back in time and get a period correct set.
  9. Rev the engine up to 7k and that glue will fly right off the belt?
  10. Thanks Dan, as long as I don't break any more wheels it should remain standing.
  11. The Woody Tying up some loose ends on the Woody as well this weekend. Got some BMF work done as well as painting in the welting. Added some door handles and some taillights. Went easy on myself and used the bits straight out of the Revell '48 Ford kit. They are close enough to what the Plymouth should have so I signed them up for duty. Also enlisted the license plate. Have a bit of touch-up work around the rear wheel opening as the masking took some of the wood off. After adding the rear door handle I realized it was facing to the left. Hope the driver of this buggy is left handed. I still have to finish up the grill. As it was heavily modified on the coupe I couldn't simply use it OOTB for the Woody. ? Do have a couple of issues holding me up from completing this. Apparently not all '41 Plymouth kits are created equal. Big surprise there.... None of the kits I had came with stock bumpers and I used the last stock steering wheel on the Coupe. Guess I'm gonna have to rip open another kit for those bits.? Signing off for now. Heading off for Paris, wonder if the Woody can make it there on one tank of gas.?
  12. Got a couple more items checked off the list. Mainly the battery on the top side and the exhaust on the bottom. Battery really looks big sitting next to that slant 6. Must be a group 26. I picked up a crack in the grill at some point, hopefully I can find another as the glue doesn't want to hold this one in place. You may have noticed the wheel covers have gone MIA. I decided I didn't like them anymore, and besides I have to use them on an upcoming build I'll soon be dusting off (hint in there somewhere), decided I wanted to go with hubcaps instead. Went through my entire stash and could not find a set of Mopar hubcaps. So I have a set coming from eBay. Hopefully it arrives soon so I can wrap this one up. ?? See ya on the flip side.⏺️
  13. IMHO I think it needs the stripes
  14. I drove one of these back in the day. Got one of these kits in my stash that I’m hoping to replicate mine with at some point. It was a four door and only had one dent on the front of the hood. So I won’t have many dents to contend with but I’ll have to find two extra doors along the way. I’ll be watching to see how you turn this into a beater.
  15. So I guess that means I'm not famous for breaking them off?
  16. I like the contrast of the black scoop against the purple. Nice. Are you going to use the hood ornament? I see you left room for it.
  17. One step forward, two steps back.?? Been trying to wrap up loose ends on this one but I keep breaking the rear wheels off. Didn't think the slant six had that much torque. ? Broke both wheels off, one twice. Finally drilled out the Lindberg low count plastic spline axles and harvested some vintage AMT steel to hold things together. Let's see what Charles Lindberg has to say about that....mmm, wrong Lindberg I guess. ? Anyway, got a few bits accomplished. Side view and rear view mirrors are on. These are from the original JoHan kit. Same goes for the hood ornament. They actually had two mirrors and two hood ornaments. Guess they thought I might loose one. And believe it or not they actually had mounting pins. Just had to drill into my shiny black paint just to mount them. Added door handles as well from the Lindberg kit. These did not have pins. So I drilled right thru the push button and slid a push pin into place to mount them leaving the head of the pin to be the new push button. Clever right...'er wrong, now the pin sticking through to the inside got in the way of the interior tub. One step forward.... Have no idea where the headlights from the vintage JoHan 64 grill might be but no problem. The headlights from the Lindberg kit fit perfectly. Two steps forward???? Maybe just this once.? We also got some work done on the tail end. bumper, lights and plate. Hey, we might actually be street legal soon. (I wouldn't count on it) HEY!, who said that.? That's the end for now. See ya next time.
  18. One step forward and two steps back, doesn’t that all ways seem to be the case?
  19. Looks like your getting the better of it now. Nice job?
  20. Maybe that kid should go find a job at the local Ford dealer. It will give him some extra cash and hopefully he can make friends with one of the mechanics and get a little help.?
  21. Not to make extra work for you but I would switch to a white primer to bring out the color better. And my choice would be the green if it cooperates
  22. No, there is no bracket there. Those are just muffler clamps to hold the pipes together. The bracket or hanger, would be on the rear side of the mufflers and then another at the rear of the tailpipe. You can also add highlights to the chassis by rubbing some of the raised sections with a cloth, such as the frame rails. It will change the sheen of the black and add some definition
  23. The ghost image around the script looks rather cool. Gives it an ethereal look.
  24. I did this on the fender script for my 63 Fury. Put the foil on after the first coat of paint. Worked OK but I can see the faint outline of the foil thru the paint. I think a lot of this depends on the emblem you are covering.
  25. Bravo, nicely done ?
