I had a change of heart..... So, decided to strip the interior. The grey just wasn't "it". So, thought i'd play around a bit with different paints: First, some brown and beige Then some more light brown And out came this leathery look

Bodywork So, about the bodywork This is my step-by-step on how i do it (i'm not saying its the correct way. This is just a way that works for me): 1) First, i will check the body for any mould marks, defects etc. Then sand them out starting from worst to least. 2) Then do a complete wetsand (i use sponges - they won't leave deep scratches behind if you're not too careful). Like complete-complete to the point where the entire shell is dull 3) Scrub-scrub-scrub! (usually with dishsoap and a toothbrush) 4) Primer. I use mr.hobby stuff 5) Paint!

........7 months later...... Guys, i have something to confess. This model almost broke me. I screwed up the hood, then i screwed up the bare metal foil and after that i screwed up the paintjob a bit more. So just got fed up an lost interest. But, i'm stubborn and won't give up that easily So, lately i've been thinking of doing a redemption build and finish what i started So here i am, with another kit, doing exactly that. Will see how it goes this time

Thank you guys for your kind words 😄

So............... about the interior. Someone gave me an idea to use the laundry clips holding down parts Why haven't i think this before! So i stole some clips from my GF to hold the seats together Worked like a charm! The seats itself didn't really fit together very well, but got them done in the end. Luckily they fit into the interior really well thou After that, did some painting. I want the whole model to scream "90s" so decided to do the most ugliest trend from that era - the black vinyl dash along with the blueish chinese plastic and grey fabric seats and carpets So mixed some paints and started spraying the interior Still need alot of work, but you'll get the idea. Looks ugly as hell, but bear with me guys. Might look really cool once its done. Also glued the rear spoiler on as a side note I did get a paint for the body too, but won't spoil it yet (its something from early 60s )

Indoor pictures really suck, i know My hobby room having black walls and me being a really bad photographer doesn't help either. Don't worry about giving criticism, i won't take it in any bad way. The sitting a bit high issue seems to be with every revell model. Seems like Its just how the revell does its models

Same 😄 I've got this crazy idea:

Hi Sorry for the picture-heavy post 😃 But finally got this one done - the C8 Corvette! Pretty cool little sportscar. The design is not everyones cup of tea, but i actually kindoff like it. Kit is from Revell. A nice and solid kit. Painted the car with some leftover paints mixed together I think its a mix between Ford liquid red and something from Mclaren, but i'm not sure. Had some issues with the windshield, but nothing major. Thanks for watching See you on my next build! Simo.

Pretty much done 😄 Will take some more daylight pictures once the weather clears up. Its raining pretty heavily at the moment

The body looks and feels like an empty shell without headlights, but somehow comes alive after glueing them in. I'm always looking forward for this part of the build So headlights are in: Taillights are actually done too, but ill glue the lenses on after the final assembly is done. Body is also together Not much left to do

So lets kick this build off too Got most of the engine painted: Still needs a lot of work. Thinking of trying to make it look a bit like a showcar so ill keep the chromed engine parts (i'm quite a huge fan of chromed engine parts - dont hate me ). Maybe ill strip the rims thou - will definitely use the OEM ones, not the tuned riced out wheels Spent some time to get the front bumper to line up - got it pretty good The back one went easier Really like the bodylines of the Firebirds
-
Day 9: Some random stuff Glued some stuff on. Mainly the grilles Stripped the rims. The white just wasn't it. Re-painted them in silver. Maybe i'll do white wheels on another build instead Also testfitted the interior Dark red looks pretty good with black
-
Day 8: Engine build! Engine is glued in Exhaust manifolds, suspension, wheel arches came next And finally the intake manifold, airfilter and everything else. The engine is done Too bad you can't really see it once its in the car.

Hi Thought i'd take up another build. This time the '91 Firebird. A really cool looking car. I'm a huge fan of american cult and muscle cars and this one certainly fits the bill. So lets see how it goes Simo.

Day 7: Engine build! Did some work on the engine At first, i was sure i wanted white rims. But after doing it, i'm not so sure if it was a good idea anymore. I might repaint them to something else in the future. Have to think about it a bit.

Day 6: Bodywork Got the body clear coated
-
Day 5: More paintwork So, did some masking and painting The sideskirts and the rear bumper got its black And a bit of a setback. Noticed that the color of the roof panel is a bit off. Seens like i skipped one coat of dark red when i sprayed it. Have to think a bit on how to go forward - leave it like it is, paint only the one part black or paint the whole roof black.
-
Ooh, green is really cool I'm thinking of doing one in shadow gray. The convertible in gray looks really awsome
-
That's what i was going for Sadly couldnt find any actual red mist paint so had to improvise a bit.
-
Day 4: Bodywork Did some priming Then did a few coats of black primer After that, a couple coats of cherry red And finally, a few coats of transparent red Looks pretty cool - like a ripe cherry Pretty happy how it turned out
-
Thank you guys!
-
Day 3: Interior Did some flocking Then glued the seats in And the interior is done!
-
Day 2: More interior work! Painted the dashboard trim in silver Steering wheel is done Center console is also done Was a bit pain to paint the buttons and apply decals - the are really small And also finished the dash
-
Wow, its been almost a month already Its about time to kick this build off. So let's begin Day 1: Prepwork Engine got its base paint Interior too got its paint Decided not to do some crazy two-tone interior and neonpink bodypaint - will do something simple and easy instead
-
Aaaaand done! 😁 Thank you guys for following along Simo.
