Mexican Ford Trucks
rattle can man replied to oldcarfan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like the concept, but the four door proportions seem off. After I finish my current builds and my F-150, I might try one. exterior looks like a roof and upper panels from an AMT Phantom van grafted to a Super Stones F-150 might be doable. -

some how I managed to post the same question twice. I was mistaken withe Texas 3d. They have Mopar slant sixes and GM in-lines. VCG is the one with 240/ 300 sixes listed. the stock is a 1 bbl carb. there are hotrod, performance, and vintage race versions as well. -

F-150 mirror source

thank you both. I just realized I have that kit. If I find that 300/ 4.9 I will post the source. I know Texas 3D does have a 300 in several variations, but not the "late" EFI. -
I'm trying to replicate my truck, a '93 F-150, ex county work truck special. So I'm looking for a source for Ford Type 9 mirrors and a 300 six. I do know the mirrors were in the Revell Explorer, but were they in any other kits? photo of the mirrors attached. I know I've seen a 90's 300 six in factory trim somewhere (resin or 3d print) but can't remember who was selling them. Thanks for any help.

correct ID?
rattle can man replied to rattle can man's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank you! I wonder where I picked up the Buick engine. Now if I can find the rest of the engine I can use it. -
I need to confirm my ID guesses on the following two things. The first I believe a body is from the Orange Crate or a derivative. The second pic I believe is a Buick nail head from AMT, but I don't recall what kit

These (or something similar) were in the Revell Hot Rod series edition of the Lil' John Butera Model T and '34 Roadster.

Thanks for the positive post. I've been going back through all of the posts on the forum and see a lot of negativity; and a lot of encouragement too.

Blobular I can accept. if it was a Chevy, I'd be looking for a replacement.

I have this kit. please tell me that the hot rod engine is not a Chevy.

grilling ideas?
rattle can man replied to rattle can man's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the input. Since I'm going '60's show car with a four cylinder with Riley conversion, not a driver, I don't think I have to worry about real world functionality. Some of those cars were not drivable anyway. I think it will be a chopped '32 shell with the custom inert from the '34 pick-up after playing around a bit last night. -
Starting a new project and I would like some thoughts on a grille. I am mating the chopped model T coupe body from the double T kit to the fenders from an original Ala Kart. Then it is going on the model A frame with the hopped-up model A four from the Ala Kart/ model A double kit. likely a dropped front axel and banjo rear (although I do have a quick change center section as a possibility). I have model T, 29 Model A, '32 Ford grille (thinking tweedy pie type cut down), 29 pick-up track nose, or tractor grille (generic using the 55 Chevy pick-up fender trick). Maybe cobble something from left over 40 or 36 Ford kit front end parts? Your thoughts or other ideas are appreciated.

Chrome Reverse Wheels
rattle can man replied to bluestringer's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Remember that reversed wheels usually have a deeper offset. The center is cut form a factory wheel, turned 180 degrees in the opening and welded back together. The result is a deeper wheel, but less offset/ back spacing. The track may be wider and the brakes may be exposed a little mor as well.
