  1. Hey Don, it’s the interior of my latest build, a ‘62 Impala. It’s one of the more modern tooled kits with a multi piece interior. Good luck with the Mercury repair.
  2. Hold the tub further away from the can as you spray, may take a couple of passes to get a good coverage. This wasn’t a tub style interior admittedly, but I sprayed it all with Tamiya TS-49 red.
  3. Hit send before I finished what I was saying! 😄 with a tub style interior, I lightly spray the floor then hold the can at an angle and spray the door trim lightly on both sides and keep lightly spraying the floor and door trim until I’m happy with the results.
  4. G’day Don, I just spray my interiors. Either with the airbrush or a Tamiya rattle can. I really only brush paint small parts these days. 👍🏻
  5. G’day Don. Probably around 0.5 mm, probably even thinner. Don’t want it too thick as it’s not going to bend easily. Have a look at the packs in the shop, see what you think. It’s handy to have some in your modelling kit. The sheets are fairly large so you can have a few goes at it until you get the shape you’re wanting. The footwells and firewall are easy as they’re flat.
  6. Beautifully done sedan delivery, and a very nice tribute to puppy. 👍🏻
  7. That is a beautifully built yenko Camaro. Top stuff.
  8. Beautiful little Escort! They were potent little beasts with the twin cam engine. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
  9. G’day Don, it’s what’s known as a “short shot”. Not enough liquified plastic goes through the mold, leaving gaps. As John says it can be repaired with styrene sheet, Evergreen is a well known brand and is available in hobby shops, bends easy in hot water, ( l made some wheel tubs for another build with it ). If you’re not up for that, put it out on the forum to see if anyone has a spare tub. Good luck with it. 👍🏻
  10. No harm in that Don. I’ve done it myself several times. If it’s giving you the sh#ts, wrap it in a soft cloth and put it back in the box and revisit it later. I’ve been guilty of pressing on with models that were being a pain to build and making more mistakes and then just binning them in frustration. Your Impala is definitely fixable, but yeah, I’d put it to one side for now. That 49 Mercury is looking nice and I hope to see it posted on the under glass section soon. 😊👍🏻
  11. You can try it but it’s a dark colour and may need a couple of layers to hide the bare primer patch. Do you plan to put clear coat over it?
  12. Certainly a good strategy. My part of Australia gets pretty cold in winter, so if l have some painted car bodies and major sub assemblies, it can see me through. The 442. Olds is a great kit, I’ve built one myself and really enjoyed it.👍🏻
  13. Hmmm. It’s a tough one. You probably don’t want to strip it again, so I’d give the affected area a quick shot of blue to mitigate the lighter primer colour, let it dry then give the whole body a couple of coats. Hopefully, the bare primer area will be unnoticeable after this. What paint are you using Don?
  14. Hi Don. No pictures mate.
  15. That’s a very tidy Firebird! Lots to like about this one. Top stuff. 👍🏻
