Being 18 and never having a job is kinda worse; the situation I'm in now. First applied to the Library in April; but they don't need anyone. Most of the odd job stores around here want you to submit an online resume; which may sort of be the reason why it's a little tricky. Went to American Eagle store in Traverse City back in October and they had a table out front with a stack of blank job application forms and a pencil; wished they were doing that around here. Then college happened and I've been swamped with loads of school work so a job during that time would be null and void as I haven't the time for a job now. BUT our Christmas break starts a week earlier than high or elementary schools and so with that 3-4 weeks off I'm hoping to get something going. Good luck to you man; you're not the only one feeling down about not having a job.

Hey that’s really nice, man, I read that those cars were sorta like the first in the muscle cars genre

Even those ones are relatively cheap; there's one about 2 hours away from us, a '63 (my favourite year of the Rocket Birds) had it at $17,000, now down to $12,000 which is pretty reasonable looking at all the photos. And actually there's a 1961 just a minute away in our subdivision that's been for sale for years at $15,000. But in 2021 the owner put a stupid Flame Job on it so we'd have to scrape that off, but even then it (and the 1964 Comet Villager he also owns) have been sitting out on the front lawn for years, also; though he does drive them occasionally and tends to them in his garage. But he's left the Bird out in the snow for the past 4 years, and the two of them are covered with 5 feet of snow as we speak. Hoping maybe to thoroughly check them out in spring, just to find out more about the cars. This photo was taken last year, but this year the snow's so high they're just two generic white car shapes

My Great Uncle has a 65 Bird that he restored almost 40 years ago; said the rear quarters were crust so he did fix them but the car became a little hefty in the hindquarters after the addition of more metal and so the fender skirts wouldn’t fit right so he just leaves them off. Also now the horn doesn’t work, nor the speedometer and the wiper lever is spring loaded and the electric windows are tired. But still they’re nice cars once everything is in order

Are model kits toys. ?
Falcon Ranchero replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I never saw them as toys; even though I bought a few from Toys R Us; even when in 2012 when I was a wee lad my dad was trying to show me how to build a kit via the one we got him for his birthday that year which was Revell's 1941 Chevy truck. I'd sit for maybe 5 minutes and then be off playing with hotwheels (which are toys). So that truck went back in the box half complete for years. Even looking through the box of unbuilt kits my dad had I never thought of them as toys per say. Then in 2021 when covid put us to online learning, there was less to do and so I finished that '41 Chevy truck and by then caught the kit bug. So no I don't believe they're toys; most say ages 13 or 14+ anyway so they wouldn't be classified as childish toys. -
That's too bad they're discontinuing it; good thing I got mine for Easter 2023. Really nice kit to build; no issues whatsoever

I guess another thing that pleased me is that on Thursday I had put up these wooden posts with the orange tape tied around the top of each and put them in the ground marking the perimeter of my grandma's driveway so the guy who does the snow removal knows were the driveway is and so now he's been doing a good job as I had mentioned in "What irked you today" the bad job he did prior to my putting the markers up.

While searching for cars for sale I had been noticing a lot of T-Birds years 1958-66 for sale but they were mostly under $15,000, and said cars were in very good condition. I guess my question is Why don't Thunderbirds seem to hold their value? I mean, it's a 2-door coupe with a 390 engine, and nice luxury components. What's not to love? Not saying I don't knock the fact that they're selling cheap because the average joe (like me) could get a nice car like that pretty easily. For example, this attractive '64 here in Selwyn Ontario is pretty pristine, and could be had for $8,900! A steal in my opinion.

I guess another one of my favourite cars would have to be my Great Uncle's Thunderbird; one being because seeing the colour in person, in the sun is just breath-taking; photos never do the car justice. Also because it has a relatively neat history being an original car sold here in town back in the day, and also going for a cruise in the thing is pretty awesome. I wasn't even around when cars like this were new, so being in the car and going around is just the most coolest feeling. So it's my favourite car because of the history of it, and the adventures we get into while cruising about.

UPdate with the snowmachine, once uncovered and gas was put in it fired up within ten minutes of priming gas into the carb and cutting the frayed ends off the pull cable.

Was able to uncover the 5 feet of snow atop the snow machine. Hoping to be able to start it up as it hasn’t in almost two years.
