Thanks Trevor. Are you a fan of only the Lotus mark or of all the classic British legends? -

Thanks Mario. -
Let’s see a ‘58 or ‘59 Chevy step or fleet side, a ‘70 Pontiac GTO, a Ford GT-40, a 289 Cobra, a mid 1940’s Ford pickup, a series of ‘34 Ford street rods along the lines of Revell’s ‘32s, a series of 60’s vintage British or Italian roadsters. Any opportunity to replace crappy, worn out ancient kits with fresh new tools like Revell did with two dazzling new ‘71 Mustangs would be fantastic. I completely agree and I can’t wait to see what else Revell has in store for this tool.

This is an ancient build of an old Monogram snap-tite kit that I thought was way better than the old MPC kit. I’d love to get another chance at a redo.

I never thought I’d see the day these things would generate any renewed interest. I’m glad I hung on to them!

No T-top Camaro body means I’m mothballing my original and waiting for the repop. I also forgot that Camaro kit came with a sweet set of BBS cross lace style wheels that look like they’re still included. Revell has really outdone themselves on that Blazer tool and I’ll definitely be adding one to my stash, but I still can’t help thinking there are loads of other more desirable subjects that sizable tooling budget could have been better spent on.

No doubt! I’m thrilled to see the hobby doing so well today. Now if we can just convince more young people to swear off the electronics and join us. -

Thanks Dan! I do have a handful of pretty valuable kits that I’m really glad I grabbed at swap meets back in the early 90’s. I also really love the level of quality and detail all the latest releases offer. I also really love all the fantastic products available for us hobbyists and all the support and knowledge here make it a great time to return to doing what I love. -
Thanks so much David! Thanks Stu! Yeah, this kit really shows its age and It was exciting to finally have a more modern kit with all the era correct driveline parts. I had the concept of my iconic ‘57 gasser in mind for decades and when I saw the Moebius Nova kit, I knew it was time to finally build it. Thanks so much Tim.

Thank you. They are an iconic favorite. Thanks. Thanks so much!

Will do thanks. I thought the threads were meant for specific cars and not just individual builders work. Nice work on your 3-window too. I have that same kit in my upcoming projects que.

This is the ancient MPC Spirit of ‘57 kit body, interior, glass and frame combined with the more modern Moebius 1965 Nova engine, trans and suspension. I cut the rear seat out of the ‘57 interior tub and filled in the side and rear panels with styrene sheet stock. The roll bar and forward braces are also from the ‘57 kit and the rear braces are scratch built from styrene rod. I lengthened the rear of the frame, added cross members and the left and right side outriggers with square styrene tube. Everything forward of the firewall is the front clip of the Nova kit spliced on to the ‘57 kit frame. The body is from the kit with all of the Bel-Air trim sanded away and Gopher racing pinstripes added over Tamiya chrome silver and black. The tilt front end mechanism is also scratch built from sheet stock. The rear wheels and tires are from the AMT 1965 Nova AWB kit and the fronts are from the AMT 1962 Bel-Air. As crude as the old ‘57 kit is I kept one anyway because with the post sedan body, the radiused and flared rear wheel openings, and the one piece flip front end I thought it got the overall gasser appearance right. I just needed to find a suitable more modern engine, trans and suspension to finish the package out which Moebius came through with. Thanks for looking.

1965 Plymouth Belvedere I 426 Commando [1/25 Moebius]

Superb! All your efforts clearly shine through. I’ve been trying to figure out how to best duplicate the sixties semi metallic/pearlescent vinyl upholstery colors. Is the interior color really just flat clear over the body color? -
The second one uses the flatty from the Tudor kit mated to a modern 5-speed trans with the steelies, center caps and trim rings from the 3-window kit. The pinstripes are off of the Gopher racing sheet I got from MRU. I built this to capture the iconic early post war socal hot rodding look which is also why I named it the Californian.
