  1. My Pinto Cruising Wagon with the matching Econoline Cruising Van.
  2. Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated!
  3. @NYLIBUD Ford made some great cars back then like the new aero Ford Thunderbird and Taurus, Mercury Cougar, and Lincoln Mark VII which were top sellers all over USA and Canada. However that was also the decade Ford planned to replace the much loved Fox Mustang with the new Ford Probe. Good thing that didn't happen and the Probe was launched as a separate car from the Mustang.
  4. @NYLIBUD Would look great in Pro Street form for sure and there are few of those in existence. These die cast LeBarons are limited edition and quite hard to find now so best not to modify these one. However Diolex Production on ebay sells resins kits of this car and one of those can be made into a cool looking Pro Street.
  5. Your amazing model car is always a pleasure to view! Thank you for sharing these new pictures of this great car and they're inspiring.
  6. My 1981 Plymouth Reliant K and the 1981 Dodge Aries K while I was working on both the cars. With a little bit of work both these can be turned into more realistic presentation models.
  7. 1981 Plymouth Reliant K painted in Burnished Silver Metallic ...a 1/24 scale die cast by MotorMax. All the chrome trim that Motomax painted with silver paint were covered with Bare Metal Foil. The floor, engine bay, and interior were originally unpainted black plastic. Many Motormax model cars & trucks have engine bay, floor & subframe(or chassis in some other cars), and the interiors are always unpainted black plastic. The Aries & Reliant K cars never came with a black interior from the factory so I painted them to make them more like what they are in real life. I painted the interior with one of those shades available for the K car in 1981 which were Red, Blue, Green, or Cashmere. These cars are front wheel drive and have no driveshaft, but Motormax molded in a driveshaft on the floor. I painted the driveshaft silver so attention is not drawn to it. Any other people attempting to enhance these replicas of important cars that saved Chrysler, you might as well use a Dremel and grind away the driveshaft before painting the floor. 1981 model K cars also didn't have rear window crank so you can grind those out. The window crank returned for '82 and later years. No windshield tint applied on this particular car as this car is a base model with few options(windshield tint however was available as option) and for the tranny it has four speed manual gear shifter lever on the floor with a boot. No floor consoles for these in 1981. The dash had the instrument cluster decal and the radio & HVAC decal, the latter applied on the wrong spot by Motormax. I cut the radio & HVAC decal to size and put it in the middle of the dash where it's supposed to be. I added carpeting, seat belts, dome lamp, and visors. For the floors I dismantled everything and painted them body paint after which they got detailed. Brake lines are made of thin metal wires. The oil pans are end of empty Crazy glue tubes cut, painted flat black and glued to the floor. A few hoses & stuff added for realism. The rear window crank was deleted because 1981 model Aries K & Reliant K had fixed rear window. Only the little vent window popped out if you wanted fresh air or if you wished to light a cigar and keep the smoke out of the car. The engine bay and floor were detailed as best as I could. I'm happy to park this historic car next to my other cars on the shelf because it is one of the cars that saved Chrysler from near bankruptcy.

  9. @Jack COndon Wow! This is super amazing! Thank you for sharing! I'm happy to know you enjoyed my work on restoring that Revell Charlie's Angels van model. Currently I'm working on putting together a model of John Bosley's 1979 Ford Thunderbird Town Landau. It should be ready a few weeks from now.
  10. @slusherThanks! Not my best build and I might replace the bumpers in future with actual bumpers from the kit. The ones I scratch built looks too big.
  11. @Modelbuilder MarkThanks! No worries. Seems like a lot of people missed it when I posted it many months ago.
  12. Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated! @mustang1989Thanks! This is the Round2 reissued '80 Pinto wagon kit from a few years ago which comes with real rubber tires with pad printed raised letters unlike the plastic wheels that were common in 1970s MPC kits. Also new kit means new decals that are safe to use, but if this was an original kit from 1980 the decals would have required a spray with clear coat or application of decal bonder because decades old decals almost always disintegrates when placed in water without those treatment. I needed to do the same for my '77 Pinto wagon decals that I also posted here few months ago.
  13. @slusherThanks! You might get to see my Pinto hatchback from Charlie's Angels join this Pinto wagon in the near future, as soon as I finish the build.
  14. @bbowser Thanks! I'll be posting many more wood panelled station wagon in the future as soon as I can finish them.
  15. Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated!
  16. @Jim B I would love to build many other cars of the 1970s that came with wild interiors such as the AMC Matador Oleg Cassini or the Caddy Seville Gucci to name a few.
  17. @kelson That's the decal sheet in that box.
  18. @kelson Thanks! The Dart kit with this box art has the body decals to build either the Spirit of '76 or the Hang 10. Unfortunately the decal sheet does not come with decals for the interior. That's where Ray's Kits comes to the rescue. Unless you can make the pattern yourself or get that somewhere and print yourself.
  19. Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated!
  20. @Rattlecan DanThanks! Happy New Year to you too!
  21. Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated!
  22. @Falcon RancheroPerhaps you can grab another similar kit and that way you'll have both the lowrider and the stock version when you're done with that. I have a second kit that I plan to turn into the '90 to '92 Caddy Brougham d'Elegance four door.
  23. This is my MPC 1/25 scale 1976 Dodge Dart Lite Spirit of '76. The decals are from Rays Kits from The Netherlands. I dropped in the big block 426 Hemi that was the optional engine that came with the MPC kit.
  24. Get ready for an exciting car with cylinder deactivation! Here's my 1981 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham V-8-6-4 Ever thought you would see one of these again in the 21st century? LOL. Like the original ad said, "Trust Cadillac to lead the way." It's the Revell lowrider kit modified, detailed, added scratch built parts, and finished by adding wheels from a promo '79 Caddy which rolls. Countless hours spent researching the real car. Pics from bring a trailer of surviving real rides was of big help. As you can tell by now I love Malaise Era engine bay with acres of vacuum hoses.
