I went through the same thing last August, hopefully you have the damages repaired and they get the full extent of what's coming to them.

Today was a great day. Found one of MY must have kits, a 68 roadrunner. Picked up a monogram 39 chevy delivery and a 5 window tall T and a couple glue bomb/rebuilders to try something new. Best part of the day was when bought the 39 and 68, the seller threw in a 57 Fairlane for free. Absolutely awesome guy.

My building style is all over the map, so to speak. From box stock to chopped up rusted out and beyond. I enjoy the challenge of working at such a small scale, and am amazed at level of quality or accuracy some of the builders here can obtain. For me, every build is an opportunity to improve my skills and learn something new.

Couple cool cars while I was leaving the swap meet, this barracuda was awesome. The Bonneville clicked all the boxes for me. -
Welcome to the forum, great looking '32 you've built.

Day one of the swap meet completed, scored a couple of kits at a good price. Also picked up a sweet little starrett combination square for 2 bucks. Among other things. Still have one day for the place to fill up, and the show car's are starting to roll in. Today was relaxing.

I've had the stator go bad on a ride- on, there was a diode in there that was causing problems, and I've learned the ignition switches aren't the greatest. I also bypass the seat switches on mine.

Great looking interior. Very clean work with the dash.

It's not too far off the highway, and there's a massive car show and swap meet this weekend. There a ton of old iron running around where I live and work. Directly behind where I took the photo is a detail shop withba late 60's impala and I believe an late thirties chevrolet. Both derelict. I posted the one on here before. -

Thank you. It definitely has an aggressive look from the front. As soon as it's finished I want to get some pictures in the daylight. Like any project, all the small details take the most time. Thanks again π -
That's exactly the lesson I've learned. I've always had an aptitude for all things mechanical, as a kid was dead set on doing that as a career. Fast forward 10 or so years, even the change from automotive to industrial didn't help. Just flat out hated it. Decided to get my welding certs, changed careers and never looked back. 12 or so years doing that, life could not be better. Home owner, no crazy debt, needs are more than met and best of all I actually enjoy working on vehicles and projects again.

I learned the hard way that this idea is the easiest way to destroy a passion for something. Also, good on you for how your children turned out as adults. I watched far too many of the people I've know since childhood struggle or just flat out fail because they did not have that push from their families.

It's hit or miss me as well. The search just gives me options of multiple stores, hobby lobby ect. Still gotta do some leg work. At least you found the kit you're looking for.

It's fairly simple to find what stores in your area stock them. Search model kits nearby or walmart model kits nearby. The results should show up, and the store number/location where they are. My local does not stock any, but two stores fairly close by do. Their app does the same, I don't use it, but my wife does. It's not the best app according to her. Hopefully this helps.
