  1. That's my occupation, I've got down to 1/16 on hand. For thin work I just use aluminum mig wire, way too soft.
  2. The better you start with, the better the finished product. The difference between a two thousand dollar project starter and a five thousand dollar one is the five grand it took to get the two thousand dollar one complete/solid/or running. You're money ahead in the long run.
  3. I'm trying to make a set of shocks, there's a tutorial posted here, it calls for aluminum rod, I believe because the assembly is drilled after. The antenna would definitely be harder for me to drill.
  4. I've been looking for some 1/32 aluminum rod, it looks like it's no longer stocked or listed on the website, amazon shows nothing by part number, the only listing I found on fleabay was Australia. Anyone know if they discontinued this, and another source possibly? Part number 83040.
  5. Dale was kinda dumbfounded at the fact that Stewart's running top fuel. He figured out why Stewart does it. Tony Stewart the guest on the Stevie Jackson's youtube show. Listening now.
  6. Congratulations Steve. Absolutely awesome bringing home the gold. Truly a fitting tribute .
  7. Very nice work. Great job👍
  8. Looking good, kidney stones suck. been there done that.
  9. I've done subtle weathering in the past, this is the first full on ratty look model I've done. I'm "new" to a lot of techniques used now, I took a thirty year break. The most difficult part, I find, is not going overboard and weathering/patina is rarely consistent or even. Thanks for the compliment, and good luck when you give it a try.
  10. I watched the video the other day, he was amazed at the acceleration, check out his channel where he talks about it, and brings up Tony Stewart running top fuel.
  11. Great looking wildcat. Very nice build 👌
  12. Great looking road runner. Awesome color choice. 👍👍
  13. I really like the 58-60 ford trucks this ones looking good. 👌. Being a motorcycle guy, that trike is awesome.
  14. Thank you both. The weathering is my favorite part on this build, I've surprised myself with it. This is the first model I've taken to this level of a build, kind of a personal challenge of my skills/abilities. There's a bit of detail painting left to do on the engine, and unfortunately I've got to fit the exhaust "in place" due to how close it snakes past the master cylinder. That one pipe was such a pain to bend, definitely easier at 1:1. Thanks again for the compliments.
  15. Progress finally. I scratch built new wishbone for the front end,a pair of glasspacks and the downpipe for the exhuast. And the driveshaft. Also wired the engine, ran coolant lines and got that installed, after running brake lines and mounting the master cylinder.
  16. Ouch man. There's a multi page thread right in questions and answers on stripping paint, most lean towards the "purple pond"( purple power I believe). Brake fluid comes up quite often,as well. I've got one kit that was started, painted with testors enamel, so I researched that thread. Haven't stripped it yet, so I'm just pointing you towards information. Good luck, this build was looking fantastic.
  17. The monogram 64 gto has a set such as these, with separate spinners. The kit is 1/24 scale.
  18. I've always enjoyed the "hunt" and dreaming up or finding a vehicle to recreate.
  19. Sharp looking galaxie. The wheels/tire combo looks good on there. Like the interior color as well.
  20. This buggy looks great 👍. Way different from what's normally seen. Scratch building opens up a whole new avenue of things, both good and potentially challenging. Just my opinion, the fit on the doors "works" with the patina.
  21. I was feeling the same way,it was probably 2 or 3 months of nothing. My last visit I scored the last jaguar and 32 ford, the Fords were hidden behind other kits. It's the luck of the draw, and timing.
  22. Beautiful Audi, very nice work
  23. That boils down to shear laziness. That's one of those situations where it takes longer to grab the correct tool, so we'll just break the faceplate instead.
  24. Definitely take it easy , rib injuries suck. Been through that.
