  1. Usually it's the other way around, isn't it. 😂👍👍
  2. Thanks, it's a tedious process, at least for me. I'm actually using real rust, "gluing" it down with createx, then light airbrush work and dry brushing before a dull coat sealer. I'm working backwards, to make it appear like the rust was hastily rattle canned over. The wood bed floor is darker in person, the lights on my booth "blows out" cellphone cameras.
  3. Fantastic idea keeping true to the time period of the concept. "Sport models" weren't full blown "supercar" effects kits in the 90's. I like where going with it. The idea from the viper is probably what would have been done if this was actually built. I'm really enjoying watching this come to life. Looking forward to what's next.👍👍
  4. Got the rusting finished, tedious process to say the least. Hung the door panels and tried to get a good photo. Next time I'll try opening the doors. Made the bed floor, I've got 60something imitation bolts to make now. I used coffee stirrers, alcohol ink and a gray wash. There's gonna be a change in the drivetrain department, the flathead from iceman collections with the frenzel. The kit motor just looks like a lump, and everything is wide open on this truck. Maybe it'll get a quick change out back.
  5. Great color for a barracuda. Makes for a sharp looking car. nice job
  6. Got home to be greeted by the whole herd. I tried to "line up both pictures, there's 7-8 of them that hang around.
  7. That's not "a" turbo. That's "THE" turbo. Massive. Of course both of those aircraft mean business.
  8. 7 grands up there. I looked into this car, it's destroked under 300 inches, valve springs get replaced as often as top fuel pistons.
  9. The look on her face was priceless. Caught 2nd while on the back bumper. Rowdy car, awesome video.
  10. It's not my video, says Eddyville in the description. I do the same with tracks I'm familiar with and have raced/been to, mostly east coast.
  11. That car pulls real hard past half track. Wakes up around the 330', all business after that.
  12. Strip it and start over. That's your best chance for success, spot repair you can't guarantee you got all the contamination off, and you have to try and make everything match. More work in the long run, if even possible.
  13. Anyone bold enough to steal, or attempt for that matter, deserves EVERYTHING they receive if caught. My view is if not yours, and you didn't work for it, HANDS OFF. If you got thieves hanging around, I hope it's taken care of swiftly.
  14. That's a wild looking ride, fantastic woodgrain. The staining from the chimney is a great touch. Very well done.
  15. I was referring to 1:1 projects with the reducer, I see how my wording could lead to confusion. Absolutely some plastics wouldn't tolerate "hot" chemicals. Just pointing out things I've seen, as I have no formal training or professional experience as a painter or bodyman, just a lot of trial and error, self education and questions asked. I always pay attention to threads like this,as there are many tips and tricks passed along.
  16. Absolutely awesome looking. 👍👍
  17. Everyone I've ever known who is a painter does the same with reducer. Being observant, you pick up tons of little tricks of the trade. Good tip on the rubbing alcohol, I use isopropyl only. I never thought of additives in it.
  18. It doesn't look "bad", the 'Bird just looks wrong on a truck, and the gold tow ball, really. Look close, even the hitch is gold. And it's probably a v6.
  19. Small inch engine's done right not only are impressive, they just flat sound awesome. Just listen to a well tuned dz 302 camaro.
  20. Gotta have tunes on at the bench. I find, depending on what I'm listening to kinda determines what I'm gonna do, and certain music doesn't work at the bench.
  21. What soap did you use, there may have been some mold release left on the surface. That's my thought. Also, how heavy/ light were the coats, it may not have had enough time in-between coats, that leads to problems as well. Did you scuff or sand the surface before primer. I've learned 90% of a good paint job is what's under it. The preparation.
  22. Thanks. I do, and will. My father (step father, actually) was and is the reason I'm the person I am today. Much like you said, we were inseparable, that really struck a cord with me. I still speak of him often, and smile doing so.
