  1. Had I known I would have sent you mine, most likely I'll be using an aftermarket engine or different carburetors. Always fun cleaning up after the last guy, isn't it. Looking great so far.
  2. It's an old snap kit that was thrown in for free at a swap meet. I'm using it as practice while my part's are in transit, I wanted something to keep me at the bench while waiting, and funny, I've got box top staring me I the face.
  3. Already order one up. I've been putting funds aside to eliminate the dod and afm. I really don't want to nuke this engine.
  4. Yes, and 4wd so dropping the pan means dropping the front diff. All for a 5 dollar o-ring.
  5. Painted up the interior on the '63. I think it needs a bit more.
  6. Which is exactly why I'm in the position I'm in currently. Let's fasten the 15" oil pickup with ONE bolt, and let the o ring take the stress. All for a few pennies.
  7. Low oil pressure code on my truck. And modern mechanical packaging of failure prone parts.
  8. Cool looking knucklehead. Great choice with the "bad luck" color.
  9. Awesome. Blown hemi, nitrous. You built one wild ride. The wheel/tire fit the stance perfect. I looks like it means business. Great job.
  10. I just used it for the first time. After reading up on that situation, I took the advice repeated multiple times here, and ordered directly from bare metal. It degrades with age, and getting from the source is the best bet you don't pick up the old, "bad" stuff. I had no problems with it.
  11. I just finished up with all that. So worth it in the long run.
  12. Crazy dream mike, but more importantly that's terrible news. Hopefully the test come back benign. I -------- hate Cancer, having lost many from it. I sincerely hope it's not, and wish you and your brother well.
  13. They know when they mess up, you can see it on their faces. Kinda hard to stay mad at 'em. They're all goofs, after all.
  14. That's how I learned to drive in the snow, empty parking lot, rear wheel drive and have fun. Do it enough and it becomes second nature.
  15. That's crazy, he was determined to get through that door. No treats for him for a while.
  16. That's a bummer. Do you have a "plan B" or are you going to attemp to salvage this?
  17. Not a term I'm familiar with, I weld professionally. Maybe he means the "splatter" from a mig or stick weld?
  18. I've always been amazed the level of detail guys like yourself are able to put into such a small scale. Even though they're not my "thing", train layouts and dioramas are always awesome to check out, and knowing someone put so much time and effort into build it is really what I find cool and interesting. I really got a kick out of the two tractors apart in the shop, and the inside joke among farmers you mentioned. The tree growing through the truck is a great touch, looks really authentic. Great work, thanks for sharing this.
  19. I agree with Les. I just did something similar to make carriage bolts for a wood bed.
  20. Awesome! These kind of builds are just different enough to stand out, in my opinion, and stock car chassis have some great details. Great work so far.
