  1. Thank you. By the time it was thinned enough to spray I was basically spraying the metallic, the pigments seem to be very translucent.
  2. I hope this one sticks. At least craft paints are cheap, plentiful and easily obtained. This is my first "airbrush paint job"
  3. Finally got some color on the body, second attempt. First attempt had zero adhesion. None. Figured I might be the thinner, we'll see if this works. The whole craft paint thing has been learning experience, I can see how it has its place, and where it may not. I'll chalk it up to inexperience.
  4. Had what I'm going to call an "old guy" moment. Was helping out a much older friend of mine(she's in her seventies, I'm 43) return a generator. 20 something year old Customer service kid was pompous, rude, whatever you want to call it, without saying a word. Body language alone told the story. As someone with lightning quick temper, alot of self control was required. And executed. In the past now, thought I'd share.
  5. Saw the deer with the leg problem this morning, eating an old pumpkin we tossed out
  6. My wife has gone through the same, she has m.s. absolutely ? % stand firm on your point, your health, your call. Period.
  7. Finished this monstrosity up this morning. Refractory oven for precious metal recovery.
  8. I took your comment as advise and ran with it. Thanks
  9. Exactly, I it's got a bit of "rubber" rake. Not completely happy with the rears, those are the a similar to stock size tire on a slightly widened stock wheel. May try widening them, but I only have 3.
  10. Some more progress, got the plugs wired, made some of the plumbing on the passenger side of the engine. Turns out the pictures I'm using for reference are actually a 421 out if a Bonneville swapped into a '64, not that it matters. These carbs aren't the most detailed, I had to dress then up some how. Fit up some different tires to the stock wheels, I really need to find a matching set, but I got the look and rake where I want it. Got a bit of street sleeper look going, I think.
  11. I go to war with these every year. Joys of living in the woods.
  12. So glad I don't live in an area with critters of that nature. I did have these guys hanging out in my lawn one season. I've seen Videos about tarantula wasps, nope, no thank you.
  13. Thanks for the tip, didn't even think of using paper as a "feeler" Guage. I've got to get what's left of my brain to get out of "metalworking " mode. Lol. I can see how the stacking up will quickly get you into a bind. I'll keep this in mind as I'm close to painting my current project. I believe a misunderstood the nature of your question, and ultimately ended up learning another tip/trick in the process, so thank you again.
  14. They do, I found it over by the cardstock/ printing section. They had a small display of it.
  15. I'm curious how this worked out for you, I'm always learning and taking what I know from full scale builds and shrinking it down isn't always the best option at this scale. Both Steve and Bill are leagues more knowledgeable than I, and that boils down to experience.
  16. I always enjoy seeing this. When my wife and I were looking for another dog, we visited with 8-9 different different dogs, unfortunately most of them were from bad situations and were defensive towards men. Breaks my heart that people evil in that way. We found Harper and everything just clicked. You did a great thing and I'm sure Riley loves you for it.
  17. I believe the movie you are thinking of is called one by one. There's also the Netflix movie rush.
  18. Great job with the revision on your space, that organizer is awesome, makes me want a 3d printer. ?
  19. No problem, nothing worse than putting in work for a nice paint job and having in issue arise. I'm not really familiar with paper weights/ their grading system, I'm a welder/fabricator.
  20. I don't really build to 100% perfection or scale, but just if it looks correct to my eye. A .188 (3 1/16) inch panel gap would be .00752. At 1/25 scale. If the calculator was correct.
  21. This is going to look sharp when you're finished. Very nice work so far
  22. Sometimes that's your best bet, I'm back into the hobby less than 6 months, and I've learned a ton. Especially here. With all the possibilities of chemistry not playing well together, I seek out as much as I can. Good luck with your paint job. ?
  23. Welcome to the forum Mark.
  24. I think this is awesome, that car is so sweet. Looks like you got a good start going, I'll be paying attention. Make sure you have a few spare hemis laying around cause this thing eats them.
