I was thinking the same thing. The solution might be to mask off and varnish the areas that require a wash.

I built this many years ago and if I recall, there were no decals but the scripts were embossed on the sides.

Same here. Alclad is can look amazing but will only look as good as the black basecoat. If theres is any orange peel or junk under the paint, the finish will be compromised. The alclad black needs to be sprayed at low pressures and at proper temperatures.

While waiting for the omni to cure a lil while longer, mixed a shade of red for the seats and did some essembly on the motor.

Painted, clear-coated. Now to start on other things while it cures...

Getting frustrated with the T-bird so decided to polish it out. Need to re-paint one of the fender skirts but will start foiling it anyway.

Decided on a color for my thunderbird. Its a buick color. I bought it to try to build a replica of a regal in my neighborhood years ago. Should look ok with a white roof.

Seeing as though it is a convertible, could you not just chop the windshield frame and replace it? I reckon it would be the same as a Impala frame. It would be a verry easy procedure.

It appears that the wildcat was available as a convertible, and a 4 door hardtop as well.

Started this 1962 thunderbird. Switching it to a hardtop. Doesn't quite match at the windshield frame. Will need to add some material to the top of the frame and chop the roof a little. I've read that mating the floorpans and interior is quite difficult. I chopped quite a bit of the inner fenders but I am adding fender skirts so it should not be too obvious. Modified how the floorpans are held in place in the back so I can drop the floorpans in vertically. Looks like much material with need to be removed from the door panels and dashboard too.
