1932 Ford Street Rod - Monogram 1/24 scale
Ken Car-Fanatic replied to Ken Car-Fanatic's topic in Model Cars
Thanks, it was a fun kit to build. -
A lot of the kits I've built through the years where mostly box-stock kits, but when it came to this '32 Ford I decided to try something different. This was done quite a while ago, but it's the most involved custom work I had done. I love old cars, road racing, tuner cars, muscle cars & so that's why this car came out the way it did. Kind-of-a Euro-influenced Street rod. The color is a custom mixed Testors red with fluorescent red mixed in over white primer. The interior Tamiya acrylic & is all custom built with Evergreen layered sheet styrene & square cut & carved pieces, including the center console & map pockets, arm rests & painted door trim. Most other parts where out of my parts box (radio/heater controls, steering wheel & column, gear shift & parking brake lever, mirrors...), the gauges where photo-etched bezels, with printed backing gauges (from some company?). Engine is a Ford Nascar engine (with Chevy valve covers that looked nicer) with custom made exhaust & the Wheels where some Fujimi BBS 19" wheels with Brembo brakes. Thanks for looking.

Very nice! You have some serious 3D printing skills, the figures & right hand dashboards & other parts you do are very nice lice looking. That's awesome! I also really like the color choices, very classic. Nice build.

I have to admit, I like the Fast & Furious version, but I really like your version better. That looks awesome! The color & those wheels with the full width spoiler on the front, with the orange Hellcat engine looks amazing. Well done!

That is really nice! That looks like a well detailed & nicely constructed kit from Revell? Hoping it went together without much trouble? The end result looks great! -
Wow!!! I'm usually a big fan of most Tamiya kits & even building them as is... however after seeing what you've done with this kit & how nice it looks, I will feel sad & disappointed to build this kit box-stock. That looks great👍 .

Really like the paint & engine build. The color really does look similar to the Mystic Green color Ford offered. Also glad I wasn't the only one who thought the kit was not great. I bought one for $3.00 was so disappointed, I saved the parts & never built it, but picked up a Tamiya Cobra R kit. Be very interested to see this one done, very nice to this point!

That looks amazing!! Great work. I never thought of a Montego as a car that I desired to build a model of, but you have changed my mind, I really like that one! Very nice.

Wow. Beautiful build. I've always loved the Cobras in that color combo. Yours looks amazing! -
Very nice. I have one of these I started about 25 years ago, but have never gotten back to yet, yours makes me want to get it done. I love the detailing you did & the 5-slot wheels look great on that. Vey well done!
