  1. Very nice! I love the old-school look of it. Well done.
  2. Yeah, I'll probably crash & wreck at keast once, but nothing ventured, nothing gained?
  3. Yeah, I'm not concerned with keeping it too stock (close to stock, but not 100%). I did find some correctly sized wheel backers in my collection of parts that I can make work.
  4. I just recently got back into model building and of course, rather than starting with something quick & easy, I decided to do this one? I guess I figure I might as well jump back into the deep end & either sink or swim? I guess if I'm going to have to re-learn stuff, I might as well go for at least a bit of a challenge. The wheels & tires are a bit larger & the wheel backers that are supposed to fit are too small for the tires, so that's my next issue to remedy.
  5. So I did just re-post this in the Truck, Van & SUV "WIP" section. I guess I'm just so used to almost always doing cars, I forgot I was doing a truck based SUV?
  6. Yeah, the Scalecoat-2 paint stripper is a bit pricey & harder to find, but it does work great. And yeah, I haven't even polished the windows yet, but they almost don't need to be.
  7. Impressive! I can't wait to see the finished product. Sadly, I just found this build, but I will keep following. Extremely nice build.
  8. So I got this partially started kit that I bought for $1.00 (they wanted $2, but took $1) It was painted red with a black interior (including windows painted black on the inside). I started stripping it down with Scalecoat-2 paint stripper & successfully got everything cleaned off. It didn't have the stock wheels & tires, but the wheels it had looked pretty good except the big 3-wing knock-offs on them didn't look right on a modern SUV to me, so I came up with an option to make my own center caps. The body pics are during paint stripping (could only do 1/2 of body at a time). Also decided to strip paint off grill & wheels to paint them. I was thinking this might just be a somewhat quick build, but "quick" has quickly been blown out as a possibility..... The engine was mostly glued together & painted all black, so I've started with that. Having to re-learn quite a bit, especially how long it takes to do some of this stuff & how much prep-work can be needed. But determined to make this work (got some ides & things I'd like to try), so hopefully it's a fun adventure?
  9. Thanks to all for the nice comments, I almost forgot that I also drilled-out the header pipes as well to make them look better. My Dad passed away about 10 years ago & got to see this one, but I learned most of my techniques & skills from him, so this was sort-of a tribute to him.
  10. Now that really is cool, great color choice & very nice build & detailing. I've always had a liking for those later 60's AMC Rebels. Thank you for sharing, because that is a great build!
  11. Wow...........! That is STUNNING! I have pictures of an original '65 & '66 versions & that looks spot on! I'm still amazed at what people can do & achieve now days. Excellent build & craftsmanship.
  12. Oh yeah! That looks really good. Nice color combo. Really nice job.
  13. Ford "T" Green Hornet show & go roadster. So around 15 years ago, my dad gave this re-issued kit to me & said that he had built this when he was young. I built it pretty much box-stock except for the headlights that came out a Monogram 29 Ford roadster pickup. Just did paint detailing & added a couple of extra decals (the flame decals where with the kit, just blended the paint to match the engine block color). Fun build that was fairly quick.
  14. Great build! Thanks for the build & repair pictures as well. It makes me appreciate the build that much more knowing that so much had to go into it to make it look that good. Well done!
  15. That looks really good. I've always been a bit hesitant of the Lindburg kits, but your build with this one looks great! Also agree about the color choices which look great on that car. Very nice!
  16. Wow! Stunning paint work & detailing. So clean, if I didn't look too close, I'd be convinced it was a real 1:1 scale car. Very nice!
  17. Impressive! Very nicely done, or re-done! I've always loved the '63-'65 Riviera's, they are just classic & great looking. And happily, you made this one look really nice. Curious if the chrome detailing was done with 1 of the small Molotow chrome pens? Very nicely done.
  18. Very nice, I love the counter-parts concept on the builds, very interesting! Nice job!
  19. That looks very good, clean build & very well done.
  20. Really nice build! Very clean & detailed, I really like the color also, looks great. Back in the day I built one of the Mugan race versions on this Tamiya kit, but I always liked the stock, street car version. Beautifully done! I also really like the show-room display with the tile floor as well. Very cool.
  21. Wow, very nice! I've always liked the 1st gen. RX-7, especially the later GSL-SE. Sadly, growing up it seemed like (other than the red ones) the colors that where most popular back then were white, silver, grey & black (well...& maybe gold too), which makes me appreciate this color choice even more, it does look stunning! Well done.
  22. Thank you to all. Hope to post some more & especially start to build more. Love seeing everybody else's work also.
  23. Just getting back into building again, but this was the last completed build that I finished around 8 years ago. It's a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette LT1-ZR1 by AMT. I custom mixed the color with Testor enamel paints & tried to imitate what I think was called International Blue (or maybe Deepwater Blue?). The interior is actually Grey even though it almost looks white in a couple of pictures. I figured the Stingray in a darker, water type blue & the grey interior kind of reminded me of what the color of an actual stingray might be, so it just seemed like a natural choice. I finally started working on another kit & hope to post progress soon. Thanks for looking.
