Monogram's 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept Car: Finished
Ken Car-Fanatic replied to David G.'s topic in Model Cars
Very nice! I've always been a fan of some of the futuristic concept cars & I have this kit so I know what you started with. I'm impressed & inspired to see what some good fit & finish adjustments & good paint can make this kit look like. I know this car was shown in white, a metallic green & bright red (in the 1959 Glenn Ford movie version), however after seeing yours, I think the metallic green version looks the best. Very nice build. -
Very nice. I'm happy to see this one because I always wanted this kit back in the 80's when I was young but never got it. I now have a re-issue Jo-Han did without the SC/Hurst decals-paint scheme, but I did pick up some of the Fred Caddy SC/Hurst decals. There's something about this car I've always liked & you made it look really good!

Wow, I've never really would've thought about this generation of Road Runner, but man... that looks good. Very nice.

Very cool. The colors with the stance, wheels/tires/brakes & other mods really make it look nice. Well done!

That is an extremely nice build. Like you, these where always one of my favorite Ferrari's, I always like the 308's & this was like a 308 on steroids! I have an Italeri 288 GTO kit, but sadly, it'll never look this good. That is a great looking build.

Thanks to all. It's nice to get back to building again. I have a bunch of other coupes to build that this kinda fits with & felt these cars where often under appreciated & I felt the Geo Storm looked better than the 2nd gen Isuzu Impulse (which was this cars other half).

I agree that wheel/tire size, ride height & stance can easily make or break a car build. Your changes definitely help make it look good. Nice attention to detail & getting it right.

While all the Z cars are nice, I've always loved this generation of the 300Z Turbo. I also have this kit & your build makes me really want to build one. Beautiful work & the bit of extra detail makes it look great, very nicely done!

MPC Californian Toronado with some changes
Ken Car-Fanatic replied to magicmustang's topic in Model Cars
Again, much nicer looking & a great improvement on the original design. I have to admit that I'm usually a fan of gold paint on a lot of cars, but this gold color & paint look great & is perfect for this car with the interior color. Very nice! -
3 years ago I bought this 1992 Geo Storm promo kit for $2 as a test kit to get back into model building & get re-acquainted with air brushing. I figured to use it as a test kit to get myself back into building & quickly realized how much work it was just to do something simple like this. Decently happy with the result, but just did it as a quick (if 3 weeks is quick?) build. Didn't do too much, mainly just painting & some detail paint-work. Here's some after & then before pictures.

Nice build. Sad the door panels & seats took so much work to make them look correct, but the effort appears to be well worth it, because it looks so much better when done. Also like the color & paint, well done!

Very cool & nicely done. I recently got some prebuilt kits from a friend & his dad & 1 of them was a '74 or '75 Dart police car that I just thought was pretty interesting, so I started stripping it down to also rebuild it. Seeing yours so nicely done gives me hope for mine. Good job!

1974 Ford Maverick 2 Door Sedan base model
Ken Car-Fanatic replied to RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA's topic in Model Cars
Very nice. I like seeing stuff like this because as you stated, sometimes people have no other or better choice than to get a metal pre-built kit of a particular vehicle (I've bought 3 or 4 myself). With some good detailing & painting you've shown that it can be made into a kit that anyone should be proud to display. -

WOW! I like it. Excellent build & nice details. -
Very nice, great job on the left-drive conversion too. Curious if this is an Aoshima kit? I've always been a fan of the MG-B's & these look really good. Nice job.

Nothing fancy seems a bit understated, because to me that paint looks STUNNING! Very nice work. I've always liked the Cobra in that metallic blue.

I really like that all the colors are so unique, very cool.

This was a 1/32 scale slot car that I painted for a friend, he was a big fan of Bass Pro Shop & Ducks Unlimited, so I used Photoshop & created my own decals & camo stripes for the BOSS-302 TransAm race car. Paint job isn't anything special, but the decals where fun to do.

Hello, I am Ken form Michigan.
Ken Car-Fanatic replied to Ken Car-Fanatic's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself
Hello to all & thanks. I from the mid-Michigan (Lansing) area in the lower peninsula. I never really stopped building, but just did very little & took years off between builds. I did build/paint some 1/32 scale slot cars for some freinds to keep doing something. Played around with printing my own decals on these slot cars for other people. -
Wow, that color is very nice! A very clean & well done build.

Stunning build, paint & detail, Very Nice! I also like the color choice. -
Custom mixed pearl yellow that used Testor's Florescent Yellow, Boyd Aluma Pearl yellow & I think I added a little Turn Signal Amber metallic as well to get the slight color shift with the florescent yellow as a primer over base white.

Just wanted to say Hello, I started looking at & reading these forums a while back & decided I should officially join in! I started out building model cars when I was young & actually my first real job was working for a company in Michigan called Sport-Craft (sadly not around anymore) & I built model cars for other people. They where mostly 1/43 scale Starter or Provence Moulage resin kits, I preferred to build 1/24 & 1/25 scale for myself but haven't done much over the last 20 years & like many others, I'm pushing to get back to doing more of it again. I thought the art of model building had almost started to vanish in the U.S. but I'm happy to see so many people still doing it & enjoying it! Thought I might have some info to offer, but after reading these forums, it seems others know more than me & are doing stuff that I never would've thought possible! I'm very impressed & hopefully will post some stuff that I've done soon. Glad to be here!
