Alright so I've started on a new build. Originally I was thinking about using the Mercury Sleeper I previously posted but after talking to Robbie Spencer I decided to use his old truck for inspiration. So his 81 A model was purchased by Jeremy Gouge. It has IMT Transport flags on it now. And Jeremy repainted it and it just looks flawless. So inspiration pic is posted and I have the frame built up. I snagged a revell of Germany w900 kit off of ebay for 60 bucks. It had an extra hood and cab as well.. so naturally I jumped quick on it. I'll post more as I make progress.

KW aerodyne cabover

Thats a sharp looking cabover Ken! Great Job! -
Well i figured since I had an AMT Mercury inch had the start for the big bunk... I took the front panel because of the pleated paneling and cut it right straight across where the crawl-thru was.. sanded flush and then used the doors. Glued the back fast... it's close in comparison to the kenworth 63inch.. once everything dries and it's durable in a day or so I'll sand the roof smooth and shape the front corner .060 sheeting works pretty close for thickness of existing sleeper roof and walls. Here's what I got so far.

This is an older thread I know, but still a very interesting read, as well as super informative. Thank you guys for this explanation and tips and tricks to it! -
Mercury Sleeper Co.

I think I may take my chances with scratch building with some parts from the AMT Mercury Sleeper. This might end up being something that ends up in the WIP Page. 😏 -

Thanks guys! Usually I build based off trucks Ive seen over the years. Decided to use a different subject and something cool and classic. I'm happy with it since I haven't been building much in a few years. Something to kick out the cobwebs -
Moving it over to the under glass. Brought it up to the office for display. It's safer here than home around a 4yr old or the cats. This is probably my favorite setup I've built. Started life as the alaskan hauler. Molotow chrome for all the shiny stuff. I have the passenger tank relocated under the sleeper with the passenger side step box put in its rightful place. I used tall rubber just because it looks alittle more accurate and looks nicer i think. Decals were printed myself. Trailer is pretty much by the book except the decals. Thanks for Looking!

Great lookin workhorse... I really like that trailer too -
Hey all it has been probably 8 years or better since I got locked out of my old Freightshaker account and could get back in 'er... i haven't been building as much due to my work and raising a 4 yr old buttt.... i have built a few. Currently working on a real beauty... started with an AMT Alaskan Hauler kit, and a Great Dane Reefer ( I know the Fruehauf looks closer to the movie) but for a shelf setter it will serve. I have it setting on the tall rubbers, i like them way better than the little kit tires.. the alaskan hauler kit is a sweet deal at Hobby Lobby if ya go on a 50% off week. I did the decals myself... laserjet printer and waterslide paper from amazon. Anyways Not alot of in progress but a few to start. Comments and critique is always welcome. I'll be adding some completed trucks on the under glass section in the next few days.
