Thanks so much! I'm stalled on it at the moment for a couple of reasons.. One being a suitable powerplant. I definitely like the look of the Shotgun Intake, but I want something along the lines of a modern EFI 429 or bigger, but totally doable in 1:1. I'll have to re-measure, but if I recall correctly, the AMT Edsel's engine bay (as it is molded) is actually quite 'cramped' for anything bigger than say a scaled 302/351. But I really want to retain the 'stock' engine bay appearance.
My modified 'Cowl Induction' Edsel hood got damaged during a house move. Probably fixable, but would be much easier just to start over with a new hood. Need a source for the hood without having to buy an all new kit.
Not sure how I'm going to tackle the interior aft of the doors. Thought about hinging the doors, but that would be a tremendous amount of challenging work from my perspective. As far as the 'bed' area... Adding additional seating? I also thought about possibly a nice wood floor from the trailing edge of the door sills back, mimicking the the panels on the exterior. But, at that point, I'm venturing into uncharted territory, hence my hesitation.
The chassis pan has already been modified. I made cut outs for the NASCAR style large oval shaped,single-tube exhausts that will exit through the side of the car in front of the rear wheels. Prob going to be using either brass or aluminum tubing. Most of you will probably recognize the bright green parts I used from the 67 Chevelle "Max Rat" Pro-street, rear end and 4-link. The plan is to have IFS with coil-overs and massive disk brakes all the way around as well.
