  1. Graig, I did find two of them. I called the Post Office, but so far all I got was the national number, and an idiot (Is it legal to call postal workers, idiots?) who wanted to charge me $28.00 to send them. I'll talk to the local people tomorrow. I should be able to just put them into a padded envelope. I'll see what I can do.
  2. Now that's what I'm talkin' about!
  3. Craig I had a couple of these that were in my way awhile back. I'll see if I can find them, now that I want to, and if I can, and it's not a big hassle, I'll send them to you. I've never shipped over the pond before, but a small package shouldn't be too expensive, or too big of a deal.
  4. Ralph, wasn't the T street rod from 77 Sunset Strip also kitted? Maybe that was mentioned already, but I couldn't find it.
  5. The arguments over who gets to drive would probably take longer than the commute.
  6. You could save face here. Instead of saying you did something stupid; you could say that you were experiment to fine a way to clean used oil.
  7. Whenever I go to McDonalds, I get a few plastic stirring sticks. The smaller end is perfect for small bottles like Testors, and the larger end works well for large bottles like Model Masters. They're free, and rather sturdy. I always stir the paint, whether it's new or old.
  8. I bought one when they first came out, as well as several promos. As has been stated, it was an unassembled promo.
  9. I wish it would be kitted too. They were a cool car, and there was even a pickup variation. I think that was some specialty company that made it though. If there are any kit manufacturers that are looking for suggestions; here's one for you.
  10. Somebody on ebay had some in resin. Some of the old annual 3 in 1 AMT kits had animals in them. I think one of the animals might have been a beagle, but I'm not sure. Hey Gregg. This might be a good idea for an article in the magazine. What animals were included in kits.
  11. You've got prayers coming from me. Hang in there.
  12. I'll second what Gary said. Prayers and well wishes going out to you and your family from here. I encourage anybody who has orders waiting from them to be patient, as this will set them back some.
  13. KJ, welcome to the forum. That's going to be a fine tribute, and your work is quite nice.
  14. You're very talented and detail oriented. I've spent many years hanging around my uncle's junk yard, and I can say that you've captured the look quite well.
  15. It looks quite realistic. I can only see one thing missing; the hound dog. LOL That is beautiful work, and I really like your water.
  16. It was part planned and part accident. I sanded all of the tires, but then the diorama sat for a long time. When I came back it had a light coating of dust. I liked what I saw, and just took a small paint brush to areas of the diorama where the dust would have been disturbed. When I was satisfied, I sprayed a light coat of dullcoat. The dust you see is actual.
  17. Those that are cool, I display. The others I collapse and put in a storage box. They come in handy if one is moving or remodeling.
  18. I also have an N scale model railroad, so I have a lot of vehicles for it, although I model an older era than Romell.
  19. I'm medically retired, my children are grown, and are mostly gone, my wife works nights, so I model whenever I want. It's unusual for me to be in bed before four in the morning. Some of my best modeling is done after midnight.
  20. Thanks for posting this Gary. I know what it's like to live far away from anybody that shares my interest in models. The nearest hobby shop is in Anchorage. It's forums like this, and the good people that are on them, that help me to "escape" this island, if even for a few minutes. I've been lucky to find some other "blues jammers" here, but if there are modelers, they aren't coming out of the woodwork. I want to join with Gary, and second his thanks to all that keep us "lost modelers" entertained, inspired, and uplifted.
  21. Mine wasn't so much as the car being unsafe, as it was the drivers becoming unsafe in it. I had a 69 Ford Galaxie 500 XL GT (that's a mouthful). It had a 429 with dual 4 carbs (dealer installed). I came blasting into a gas station that one of my uncles managed. My father happened to be in there at the time, and started to lecture me on my driving. My uncle spoke up, and started to tell about the drag races my father had been getting into, as well as some other, shall we say, infractions. I then heard about my older sister, who was the librarian type, had been seen driving down the main street of our town. I soon traded it in on a basic 72 Impala 4 door hardtop, with a 350 s barrel. I've often found it ironic that the "kid" had to get rid of his car to protect his older sister and father.
  22. Happy Birthday, and may the Plastic Gods leave you lots of fun goodies.
  23. I'm in. I don't sell much, but with the changes to ebay, I got to the point that I was leery about selling anything, so I stopped. I might be inclined to sell something from your site.
  24. You might try the Opel Blits firetruck chassis under it? That's the same one that I used on the water truck. There are some on ebay with prices anywhere from 38.00 to 60.00, and it looks like they might be a good match for you.
  25. One of my earliest conversions gave me fits in the engine area too. I finally got fed up with it and used the transmission and the lower part of the engine and built a solid block structure on top of it. That hid the fact that there wasn't an engine in it. I then glued the hood shut. It looked fine sitting on a shelf.
