  1. Who says Bearded Dragons don't like Mopars. I take it that this one left the rust belt for the desert a little too late.
  2. I may have to pick up a copy. Thanks for sharing this.
  3. Thanks for the progress pictures. That's an impressive build.
  4. You've got a really clean build there. Did you notice the paint bleed through in front of the left door? I like the stretch and color combination.
  5. This probably belongs someplace else, but since it's aimed at truckers, I've chosen to place it here. Eighteen Wheels North To Alaska-a history of trucking in Alaska by Cliff Bishop Publishing Consultants ISBN # 978-59433-110-7 copyright 2009 $19.95 Ice road trucking has come under the limelight in the last few years. This is a history of the early years of trucking in Alaska. Cliff gives an excellent account of what it was like to blaze trails where nobody had ever driven before. He informs of the struggles of trucking at 70 below zero, and the problems of trucking with a state government that blesses the railroad while making things near impossible for the truckers. In this book, you'll find bears, wolves, avalanches, hunting, fishing, but mostly some great trucking stories with lots of black and white pictures. If you want to know what it was like to drive in the early years of North Country trucking, then you'll not want to miss this one.
  6. Thanks for your service and keep your head down.
  7. I thought that it was mentioned in this thread whether this could be built as a daycab, but I can't find it. Has it been mentioned anywhere as to the posiblities of building as a daycab.?
  8. Gary, I hate to be a nit picker, but you forgot the door handles and emblems, the tires are to small, and it sits too low. I doubt that you could get a pack of Luckies under that thing. Seriously, That's a beautiful build. I like the choice of colors, and the way they're graduated into each other. The white interior is quite striking. You've proven that these old annuals can be built into beautiful works of art.
  9. Does anybody make drums and keyboards in 1/25 scale? I have several guitars, but I would like to make a band (blues, of course) for a diorama.
  10. It has a menacing Sci-Fi look to it. I like it.
  11. That is cool. I like the nice clean lines and also the color. It wouldn't surprise me to see GM make it.
  12. I use small elastic hair bands from Goody (spelling). They come in black, which is a plus.
  13. You saved me a ton of work, Dave. I'd been thinking that this would be a cool combination, and was planning to build one myself. Now that I see how cool yours looks, I don't have to build one. LOL Keep us posted. I want to see this one finished.
  14. It's looking good. The colors are real eye catchers.
  15. Back in the days of unleaded gas, the cars had a reddish film around the carbs. This differed due to the amount of lead in the fuel and how well the cars were maintained. Does anybody have some good detail pictures of this?
  16. Welcome Mark. I think Mike just about covered the people here. Don't be shy about showing your models.
  17. Peter, welcome to the forum. Two of the greatest things in the world are crankin' up the Stratocaster and playing the blues and the other is slipping into the model room to build model cars & trucks. One brings the "cops" to my door; the other keeps me broke.
  18. That is an outstanding build. Keep them coming.
  19. my first model cam in August of 1960. My family was on vacation in Tulsa Oklahoma, and the son of the people we were visiting had a wall filled with models. At least it looked filled to an eight year old kid. I was hooked immediately. The family visited a Sears store and in the process a 1960 Oldsmobile hardtop model was purchased for me. It didn't come out looking like what I build now, but it was a great start. It's hard to believe that was 50 years ago this month. I have never regretted it.
  20. This is a very clean build of a cool truck.
  21. Someday I'm going to sneak in and steal your shrink ray. LOL That's another fantastic build.
  22. Ryan. Stop posting these pictures. Desires are rising in me to dig out another Titan/Astro kit and build along. LOL Seriously, your work as quite artistic and beautifully executed. I find it difficult to wait for the next installment.
  23. Thanks everybody. I'm going to do some measuring and get some pictures; if it will ever stop raining long enough. Waste Management has just come in and asked me to build a model of one of their trucks.
  24. This is another beautiful build. I'm going to have to try your dash method. Mine has been to paint the background and then use colored pencils to do the detail.
  25. I find it interesting how a car that normally I wouldn't even notice captures my fancy. This one is standout. One feels a desire to climb in a grab some gears.
