The Modeling Hermit

Our PFDs come out today, and after I get another guitar, I'm going to be stocking up on more models. I've also got to get some plastruct for some truck trailers I have to scratchbuild. I find it interesting that I used to look at magazines such as Car Modeler, and gape in awe at all the fantastic models. Now thanks to forums such as this, and the encouragement from everybody on them, and my wife pushing me, I'm now catching myself thinking, "I did that".

I'm going to grab another 59 Cadillac. I wasn't impressed with the results of the first one that I built. The kit was fine, but I decided that i was such a good builder that I didn't need "no stinkin' instructions". I got myself into a mess with that one. I'll have to break down and get a 72 Cutlass also. There are some others that will be making an appearance at my 20.

I hope the people at Moebius realize what they're going to do to my poor checking account. LOL As much as I want the Hudson and the Chrysler, it's the Lonestar that i'm really anxious for.

I love those old school rods, and I'm glad the white walls are coming back. I'm also hoping to see more of this car in the future.

These were some of my favorite cars. We modelers really missed out on a lot of automotive history from the seventies. I loved the full sized cars of the first half of the decade. I owned a 71 and a 76 Olds 98, a two 72 Ford Galaxies, 72 and 76 Impalas, and a 75 Dodge. I also thought that the roof treatment on the 75-78 Ford LTD 2 door hardtops were cool. If any model companies are looking for "virgin" material to model; here it is.

It's a shame that somebody that was as important as he was, to go out this way. Long live his memory.

The Duke of Hazard TV series used a lot of L series Fords.

It will be an interesting build.

This is a very convincing diorama.

When I first started building models, half roof customs were rather popular. I've really missed them, because I always thought they were cool. It's good to see you incorporate that into a very clean lowrider. Maybe you'll revive the trend.

This one looks like it is all business.

I had a 1:1 60 Impala back in the early seventies. It had a "6" and a powerglide, and was in a strange yellow color. Somehow yours looks like it might be just a little bit more performance oriented.

I usually don't like the large wheels, but they blend in well with the theme of this car.

That came out a lot better than mine.
