That is hilarious!!! (I think I represent that remark!) -
D'oh! I meant "more". Sorry about that.

My only request is that instead of using odd abbreviations of words, such as "sry" for "sorry" (it looks like you misspelled "try") and "an" for "and" you should use the whole word. It helps people understand what you're trying to say, especially those of us who don't speak (or read, that is) the text message lingo. BTW I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on this build. Build it the way you want to build it. -
Ron, a tip for your photos: try getting mote light on the object you're taking a photo of. Lighting is one of the most important parts of photo quality.

It's actually easier than that, Mark; download the Mozilla Firefox browser. It comes with a built in spell checker. Also, I don't think those guys are picking nits; they're just trying to help out. -
That Nova is awesome! BTW, did you build that backdrop? It's pretty awesome, too.

That's pretty dern awesome Lyle!

Would a 69 Trans Am race car have window cranks, door handles, and/or arm rests on the interior door panels?

Finned Buick brake drums

I haven't seen the ones mentioned above but I'd say the best set I've seen are Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland's. They're killer! -
I'm gonna have to go with with Norm's. His stuff is just too awesome and I am a MAMA member after all. To top it off, the car I'm replicating is a Maryland car. What was I thinking!

I'm looking for a caddy air cleaner for a project I'm researching and assembling parts for. Which is better the Replicas & Miniature of Maryland or Modelhaus? Also, if I were to get the Modelhaus one, which year am I looking for? Their site lists several years for the air cleaners and I have no idea which.

Early Corvette Grill Teeth?
Nate replied to Nate's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Dave. I found it in the AMT Boyd Coddington 57 Chevy. It has TONS of those teeth. I may have too many actually. It also has the finned 409 valve covers that the actual car has. -
Early Corvette Grill Teeth?
Nate replied to Nate's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks, I'll have to check the 55 Nomad. I know I have at least 1 of those, maybe 2. Does anyone have photos of the separate spiders from Modelhaus? Also what diameter are those wheels, will they fit the front tires from the Revell 29 rat rod truck kit, because they're the perfect tire for this project, IMHO. -
800-hp Shelby GT500 Super Snake
Nate replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Any word on when Revell will issue the 2011 Mustang, hopefully with the 5.0? Hopefully we'll see as many variations of the current generation of 'stangs as the previous. -
Here's me back in '04. I still look pretty much the same plus a couple of pounds and minus the ear rings.

I am trying to replicate this car. It was featured in The Rodder's Journal a couple of issues back. The article says that there are 14 teeth in the grill and that looks to be the correct number I'll need to fill out the space between the headlights number based on some basic testing fitting with the Pro Modeler 58 Corvette grill. The Pro Modeler grill only has 13 teeth (I think) and I would hate to cut it up since I want to actually build that kit. My question is, is there a source for a custom grill that I might be able to use or cut up to fill out the 61 Impala grill? Also, is there a source for the "spider caps" for the wheels? They look like this:

Well, I should've looked before I asked the question. Anyways according to Round 2's website the release date is May 2011. Apparently it is a Skill 2 Snap Kit. Does anyone know if this date is likely?

I remember seeing some photos of the test shots, but haven't heard any news about a revised release date. Does anyone know?

The MCMA's 21st Annual Showdown!!! 3/19
Nate replied to Nate's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bump. -
Haven't seen a VT build uh ...ever. Pretty neat. Too bad WVU and VT aren't in the same conference anymore, I really enjoyed beating you guys.
-
Just a heads up to all the Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas/Louisiana/Mexico modelers (and whoever else wants to make the trip!). The 21st Annual Showdown will be held this Saturday 3/19 at the Dr Pepper Star Center in Farmers Branch, TX. Please note that this is a new location for the show. The common kit for this show is the AMT 25 Model T Ford Double Kit. For more info please go to The MCMA Contest Page. Thanks and I hope to see y'all there!

Don't worry about the wheels. The owner just bought a new set of rims, 'cuz it's easier to put on a set of rims than to fix all of the rot.
