  1. That's the first kit I thought of when I read the topic. That Chevy Panel truck was an awesome kit. Managed to track down a built up "gangbusters" version of the kit with the original box, too bad it's gone for good.
  2. Well darn! Apparently the Smugmug site is blocked by my firewall here at work! Has anyone downloaded the photos to a fotki or photobucket account?
  3. Ok, so the new pony cars are out and they're all pretty awesome. I have seen a few Camaros (Camaroes? ) and Challengers with flat or satin black stripes or graphics. My question is; how do you accomplish this when masking and painting, as opposed to using decals? Do you paint the main color, clear and polish it, then mask and paint the satin/flat or vice versa or some other way? Am I over-thinking this?
  4. Man, I gotta get one of these! It looks awesome!
  5. Here are the photos. I don't remember the builder's name, sorry. I think he's from Oklahoma.
  6. I LOVE these kits! I don't have a photo at the moment, but a woody version of the Aerosedan won best in show at the MCMA's Showdown in Irving, TX back in March. I'll post pictures of it when I get home, if I remember.
  7. Something else you might want to look at is cutting the grill surround away from the front bumper. It might help with alignment. Also, what did you use for the headlights?

    DeLorean's

Lighting is also VERY important. i think you need more light when taking your photos.
  9. I'm with Dave. I love the idea, but hopefully it's a full detail kit. If it is, I wouldn't have a problem forkin' over the 60 bones. Unless of course Hobby Lobby gets it. The photos from the Tamiya website seem to indicate more detail:
  10. Does anyone have pictures of the "smoothie" wheels?
  11. I love this thing! Can't wait to see it! Are you bringing it on Sunday?
  12. Looks fabulous as usual Alex!

I agree with the others. The extra work adds more texture to it. It looks great!
  14. Sounds like a killer diorama.
  15. As usual cruz, that is one nice build!
  16. My apologies, i forgot to mention that the truck looks great! I think you nailed the stance.
  17. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to do this conversion to one of the new Chargers, since the Daytonas were Chargers not Challengers?
  18. For a better chassis option check out the Revell 64 and 65 Chevy pickups. The suspensions are very similar and the wheel base is pretty close for a short bed. I am using for this project and plan to use it on a couple of others. You'll have to make some modifications to the body and bed to get them right, though.
  19. I think you need more pairs of scissors! BTW What kind of cigar you got there?
  20. Did anyone else notice the 1966 TV Batmobile in there with the Sci-fi stuff? That will be awesome! I hope it's a good rendition of the Lincoln Futura based Batmobile.
  21. Looks pretty sweet! I, too love the unchopped yet channeled look. What wheels are those?
  22. Makes me homesick, seeing that wall of models and having almost unlimited access to Norm's resin. Now I'll have to mail order the 8 stromberg intake and those killer drum brakes!
  23. Also, for those of us that love the 72 Chevy but hate the single piece chassis in the AMT kit, the chassis on this kit can be substituted for the AMT one. It will take some work, but it's a good swap. You'll also need to get a resin short bed or lengthen the chassis. Here's a photo of my in progress 72 with the 64 Chevy chassis. I'm still trying to figure out how to change the rear wheel openings in the 90's stepside bed to match the front.
  24. Looks great so far. Take a look at putting the Z06 Corvette engine in it. That would add to the pro-touring scheme. Where in Texas do you live? I'm in the Dallas area. We have a club that meets in Irving. Check us out at www.themcma.com
  25. There's the MCMA, but we meet in Irving, which might be too far for ya. Anyway, we'd be glad to have you. We have a meeting this Sunday at 1:00-ish. The website is www.themcma.com.
