Thanks Trevor, couple of blemishes, but not worth fixing and possibly mess up what I have. With Christmas on the doorstep and other things to do, I probably won't get it finished until after Xmas early new year Don

Thanks Dave. Christmas time = family time

Okay guys, clear X2 baked and polished, bout as good as I can do. Yep, I know it's not perfect, but it's about as good as I can do. Hopefully, if my wife leaves town, 🙄I can finish the interior and put it together. Don

Thank you Craig it's in the "oven" see how it turns out. Don

Thanks Ken. I learn from them and it saves time with reworks. Reading Peter and David's comments gives me valuable info I didn't know - thanks guys for all your input. As I said once before, building is one thing, painting a whole university course of learning. Don

Thanks John. There's a couple of marks I'm not happy with, but it's not a show car so I think I'll leave well enough alone, take your advice "clear and polish". Thanks Don

Here is what it looks like. Some things to fix, but basically this is what the paint looks like. Don

Thanks Ken, guess I'm always looking for short cuts. 🙄

Thanks John, I'll post a couple of pics tomorrow to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about

I'm using Tamiya rattle can, my airbrush is out of commission right now. So, TS20 metallic Green is what I'm spraying over their primer. it's gone on okay, two light coats and one heavy, but not wet, It has some gloss. So my question is, should I give it a coat of clear gloss, or just polish up what I have. I guess if I'm not happy with the polish finish, then a gloss clear coat? Don

Could one of you guys help with this query please. Does metallic paint not have a gloss like solid paint (non metallic). I've just painted a body metallic green and it doesn't have the same gloss finish as some of the other bodies I've painted - nonmetallic finish. Thanks Don

With the little time I have at the moment, I spent a couple of hours sanding and have the body ready to prime, but gotta put that on hold, we have a heat wave here in Brisbane (Oz) yesterday 36 deg cel far too hot for painting, and the rest of the week in the 30's. So looks like I take a painting break and go move some more furniture. (Happy wife, happy life) 😁 Don

Thanks John. Might give it a bath today - isoprop, and once dry, hit it with primer. Don

Here is where I'm at. I've rubbed the body (1200) back to get rid of the SMS paint. Opinions please, is this far enough. If so, do I need to prime again or can I put a top coat on this. I have Tamiya TS ready to go, can't use my airbrush, (read earlier post). Opinions please. Don

Okay guys. First I didn't know SMS was a hot paint, my inexperience shows here. So much to learn with paint, so many disasters to overcome. As far as SMS goes, I think I might put it on hold for the moment and do further testing. With my current build, I think I'll change brands. For now I think I'll stick with Tamiya, I can get into enough trouble there, as has been shown here on several occasions. Also, as I have said earlier in this post, my "good lady", has me involved in her rearranging the house - my airbrush is temporarily disabled (no spray booth), until her project is completed. I'll find a color of my choice in Tamiya - unfortunately have to be rattle can and continue on with my build. I will save all the comments and advice you have given me for future projects. The information/advice you have given me is invaluable, and I thank you all for your help. Don
