This is the kind of stuff you can do when the car has no resale value, other than weight.

Not unheard about somebody buying a "sealed box", opening it and finding that someone put something totally unrelated inside and resealed the box.

If you are buying as investment there are better ways to waste money. Same thing happens with diecasts: Smuzzl Company issues a "Limited item", "one of only 5000" guaranteed (yeah, right). With "certificates of authenticity". Everybody buys one. Price skyrockets. A few years later the exact same item gets reissued in a different color/box by the same or another company that bought the molds. Maybe even with extra parts... or LESS parts. But this time they make thousands more. Then you find them at Goodwill for a song. Sounds familiar with plastic kits?. Last year tried to downsize the stash, not by a lot but wanted to get rid of about 60 kits. After advertising within modeler's circles sold exactly 7. Then had to pack and ship them. Not worth the trouble for me. Did you notice that all vendors carry roughly the same kits back and forth?. So go ahead, open the box, fondle the parts and have fun building it.

I still remember when I assembled the 1/48 Ford F100 multipart kit. Whoever made the expression that we modellers are masochists was not even close.

Nice. I also liked to pick distressed diecasts at the local Goodwill, but they have sending them to their auction place for a while.

Was originally a coupe, but one Friday afternoon, while having a few with friends, somebody wondered how it would look as a convertible. Out came the sawzall, and the rest is history. Still have pics of the original.

Two Minis cut-down, one as a taxi and the other a roadster. 1/18 scale Maistos IIRC.

I owned this car years ago. Was a junk car that I used for almost a year until it lasted long enough to make it by itself to the junkyard. An old Jo-Han promo "redecorated" with decals I made and some skillful hand-painted details...

Got his old Hawk as a glue bomb, tires melting already (see the shiny spots on the wheels where the whatever the tires ooze off went thru). So I depicted it as a restoration under way.

This is the reissued monogram that I did a few years ago. The dark stain on the floor may give a clue about why it is for sale...

Years ago, when I was into model railroading, did a railbus in HOn30. Worked fine with a power unit almost like the ones posted above.

Have several diecast cars for trade for ?. No original boxes, some have missing parts. None is perfect, so they are good material for modifications. The H2, Corvette and Aston are 1/18, the 1904 Cadillac is 1/32. The rest are all 1/24. Can send detailed pics of any. I am located in Margate FL. The Escalade is plastic friction.

The pink monstrosity that I posted started as a blue Hubley. I got it as an incomplete glue bomb: I got exactly the body shell, chassis, 4 wheels and trunk lid. Nothing else, so I figured that it would not be a great loss for the collector community if I did what I did.... so I did it. Nice display BTW.

As I see it, this kit was tooled in the early to mid 60s by a company that made mostly toys not real scale models, so superdetailing (even then) was a hit-and-miss situation. Looks more like a promo.

Light spraying and thin paint will do it. Stretch a piece on some kind of frame so excess paint can just go thru.

Thinking about doing the screens with a (stolen) spray-painted pantyhose. Did that ages ago in an HO scale diesel locomotive. Actually I may try to replace the rear panel with a thinner one.

Very nice build!. Now I have motivation to dig the one I started a few decades ago...
