  1. Ive read that when using Tamiya colour/clear if the base coat colour isn't cleared within 24 hours you have to wait 30 days for the base to gas out.Any thoughts on this?Is this why some have mentioned problems with the clear?
  2. Dave, your math is staggering. How will they do it.??Recall fixes on top of the garages doing non recall warranty issues as well as general maintenance the good wrenches are going to be busy It amazes me that guys here are still trying to defend the general.Take your heads out of the sand ,its not a general motors culture ay more
  3. I was just reading that the aspen/volare were so bad and had soooo many recalls that Chrysler couldn't keep up and it basically caused Chryslers first bankruptcy Is another GM bailout in the future???

  7. you could but your getting into changing the taper of the hood top and fenders all sorts of work.Buy a revel aerodyne kw for the hood .they are inexpensive and would give you lots of extra parts afterwards
  8. Rick ,you missed my point .13 should never of happened. You made sound like 13 deaths due to cost saving is ok
  9. Not sure why GM or any of the others didn't learn from FORD not dealing with a saftey issue like exploding pintos.history does repeat its self

  12. One thing hasn't changed in my 30+ years of caring about cars. The GM camp is still very sensitive about their favorite brand of vehicles.
  13. talking about vegas and pintos being junk doesn't count .there wasn't a good car in the whole bunch of the millions made back then, any manufacturer I recently read that 10 % of ALL cars made are soooo bad they should be outright replaced just like a lemon fridge or vacuum would be.bottom line is they don't care. The most profit come from the service end and up selling options.People are also blinded by brand loyalty. As Harry said the fact is they chose to do nothing. Did GM get fined by congress for doing nothing just like Toyota got fined for lying????
  14. blah,blah,blah.4 wheelers this, swift drivers that,jb hunt again, too many rules, let us do what we want, dont need hos rules, pee in a bottle and litter filth because to unfit and tired to get out of the cab, blah, blah, blah.Didn't know this was a highway hero forum
  15. and people still are buying them.sales are climbing.the advertisers are doing well some have mentioned the bean counters specing cheap parts for more profit, more like light weight, light duribilty parts being used to chase that mpg figure that every one wants
  16. A chevy salesman asked his ford salesman friend 'hows business?" Ford salesman answers "I don't recall"
  17. In the late sixties freightliner made the first factory double bunk trucks. I received a well stocked freightliner junkyard box in a trade so I'm building a replica of the first large cars. cab stretched to 104 inch Drivers side roughed in. Lowered headlights to correct position, cab height reduced and wheel opening changed. Please ignore incorrect step opening Passenger side kit stock to show difference photo of prototype
  18. look how clean and maintained that truck looks, might give a clue to why its like it is.It probably has close to 2 million miles on it.Those bars are held on with a rivet that in time will corrode ,the alum bar corrodes and whammo the bar is loose.Nothing to do with the brand of truck.
  19. Thanks. The lights are from a guy here in Canada. Plaskit is the name of the company. I'll have to dig up his contact info,I got these in person at a show
  20. Im quit happy with round 2 reissues because its my favorite era.You can build dealer fresh, junk yard worn, old war horse still on the road or a modern restored show piece. We do need newer trailers though and Im glad the new internationals are avalible
