  1. Thanks Aaron...it's loking like I might get to make the Great Escape tomorrow!
  2. You got a non-clickable link there bud!
  3. Happy Barfday Buddy!
  4. It sure appears to me that resin was cast directly from the kit because I don't see any difference.
  5. This is a movie about the 1959 NHRA Nationals, 27 mins long and shot in color! Pretty cool.
  6. Congrats!
  7. Mitch, did you modify the hood? Looks like it was cut and made thinner. If so you did some good bodywork there as I had to compare both your 64's side by side...
  8. That's cool! Feels good to have your efforts recognized doesn't it?
  9. Grandt Line Products. They are sold in model train shops everywhere and better hobby shops. If you can't get to a hobby shop you can go online to the source here... http://www.grandtline.com/ You get a whole bunch of them on a tree and they have various sizes.
  10. Love your Avatar Chris. Shows you are proud of your accomplishment. Good for you!
  11. It was fairly tight I guess. But I never had one before though so I don't really have a frame of reference as to what is too tight or normal tight.
  12. Sam...just curious...with a name that includes Metalmulisha...are you by chance a motocross rider?
  13. I do the same thing but not with clear. I always use one more light coat of the color that I applied. That way, any paint that should bleed through under the tape doesn't show. I feel that the clear is thicker than the color so the buildup is a tad bit less on the paint edges. We do the same thing on the 1:1 bikes and cars we paint in the garage. Oh and this is some fine work you've done here Darin....real fine indeed!
  14. I don't yet know what my long term ramifications are yet. Hoping I'll find out soon....
  15. Geez...now that this has happened to me I'm hearing horror stories from quite a few friends about really bad things that happened to them or people they knew who had what I am currently blessed with...and this stuff is downright scarey. One of my longtime modeling friend's wife died from a bllod clot that travelled to her lungs! Now more than ever I'm glad I didn't blow this off.
  16. Wow..that's cool! Kinda reminds me of one of the hot cars in the animated movie, "Cool World". And by that I don't mean cartoonish...just has that sweptback fast look!
  17. I'm rapidly realizing one thing I'm really missing...my own kitchen! This really sucks not being able to grab whatever I want! And being pretty much bedridden sucks too! Couldn't fall asleep till around 0200 I think...and then they come in and wake me up at 4:45 with another blood draw. Sure wish I was home in my model shop! Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts!
  18. Just what I needed...a dang blood clot in my calf of the leg I just had the knee surgery in. So now I'm in the hospital hooked up to an I.V. of Heparin and they have to get this balance sorted out. Good thing I called the Doctor today...he said if I'd waited much longer it "could" have killed me!!! I guess these blood clots are nothing to mess around with! I guess the Mooneyes project is just gonna have to sit for a spell.....
  19. Donald, there are jerks in every human endeavor. You apparently just happened to run into 2 of them in the model car hobby. But I have to say that this is definitely NOT the norm. 99% of the guys I have met in this hobby have been just the opposite. Don't worry about these 2 idiots...karma will get them eventually.
  20. Not to mention the excellent front cover photograph of a wrinkle wall slick at rest just prior to launch. It perfectly illustrates how the wrinkles look prior to being subjected to the torque forces of a launch off the line!
  21. This kitty hasn't left my side since I came home fom the surgery. It's like she knows something is wrong. Amazing.... Hosted on Fotki
  22. This might help too. It's a tutorial on how this airplane modeler makes his own decals. It's pretty good... http://smm.solidmodelmemories.net/SMF/index.php?topic=725.0
  23. Nothing to fear at all...you will NOT feel a thing before or during your surgery other than a needle stick for an I.V. which is nothing. You'll be out before you can count to 3 when they administer the Propophal or whatever that drug is that's puts your lights out. You also won't remember anything either! It's later on during the rehabilitation that's tough. My surgery was only arthroscopic...3 small incisions and instruments jammed in there to do the surgery. Outright knee replacement is understandably much more. There used to be a show on The Discovery channel years ago called "The Operation." In one episode they did a complete knee replacement. It was fascinating. If you could find it somewhere and watch it you'd see in advance exactly how it works. Good luck brother!
  24. Congrats George! That's quite an accomplishment today. And that goes for you other responders who have many years married like George. My wife and I are coming up on 30 ourselves!
