  1. Awesome work! I'm anxious to see how the rivets do under paint too. Looks great so far.
  2. Nice looking model AND cat!
  3. I'm not much of an import guy, but I could really get into these. Excellent builds! Those panel lines on the Supra ARE just a little dark, but its STILL not overwhelming. BTW, I've found on a light color like yellow, just "dirty up" a little of the body color with a few drops of black and flow into the panel lines. Really nice models!
  4. If you made a turd trendy (or at least convinced them that it was environmetally friendly), people would line up to buy one.
  5. So a Nissan Cube is one? It looks like something Spongebob would drive.
  6. I can take mine and $1.00 down to Hardees and get a cup of coffee.
  7. Beautiful job!!! Those wheels really look great on there.
  8. I was bakin' a cake for ya, but I had a problem. The directions said to grease the bottom of a 6X9 cake pan. THE BOTTOM. The fireman said they meant INSIDE the pan. Oh, well....Happy birthday!!!
  9. Thats not a bad build night, thats just an annoying build night. A BAD build night is when you slather on the Solvaset to set the decals on your just-finished race car model, only to realize that it WASN'T Solvaset, it was TENAX.
  10. Glenn, he's right about that being nasty stuff. About two years ago I used it on a '55 Chevy and thought it was great....went ahead and foiled it and glued the windows in. About a week later, it had these vertical cracks all the way around. I just put it away and haven't looked at it since. Anyway...another thought, depending on where your bug landed, is maybe some stripes or decals? Good luck! Call me sometime!
  11. Maybe this will help? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12248
  12. Does anyone make a '73 or '74 Nova body in resin? Just wonderin'!
  13. Great job on the wheels! I'm building the Hot Wheels Camaro, which is basically the same kit with a Camaro body, as a club project. Pretty nice kit. Keeps us posted on this one!
  14. Very nice! Good choice of color too.
  15. Lol! Pretty cool! Just don't try to put him on no airplane!
  16. First, thanks for all the kind comments! George, that a 1/48 scale Hasegawa kit. I build race planes in 1/48 and 1/72 scale. Just something about those race planes I like....maybe its the cool colors. I didn't mean for this to be another off-topic discussion. I honestly think there's a place here for non-automotive subjects. I think we can learn new techniques by seeing models outside our usual realm. I learned drybrushing and washes from the airplane modelers in my club. There's a post on my club forum now about a paper archetechtural building that has to be seen to be believed. And the figure modelers can teach us a thing or two about those people for dioramas. like I said...it was just a though....or maybe a suggestion. Again, thanks for your comments. Coming from YOU guys, it means a lot!
  17. What did you expect, a CAR? Seriously, a couple of weeks ago, someone...FujimiLover, I believe......posted some pics of a Sopwith Camel he was building. Pretty cool. I KNOW this is "Model Cars" Magazine, but lots of us here build things other than cars. Personally, I like civilian helicopters and racing aircraft. We have categories here for drag racing, large scale, even dioramas......would it be that difficult to add a category for "Other models"? Just a thought.
  18. It would be ok ONLY if it's a John Deere. I have a racing lawn mower....would THAT be off topic? Seriously, I don't see a problem with this. It has wheels and a motor. Its not much bigger than a model. Is it "offending" anyone? I don't see how. I figure if someone don't like it, don't look at it.....but what do I know? I swear, some of you guys have gotten really touchy lately. Loosen up a little before you have a stroke!
  19. Looking good so far! A word of advice on the Keith Marks decals..........they are much thinner than kit decals, and can be easy to tear or bunch up, so be careful! They DO look far superior to kit decals though. Interior looks good, but I was thinking the Bandit had a tan interior. I might be getting that confused with a couple of T/As I owned, though. Your reference pictures show both tan and black. Interesting. Anyway, keep up the good work. This one should be nice!
  20. Gee, I dunno. I've been in a few group builds over the last few years, and a year is usually too long....only about 10% that sign up finish. They lose interest. Six months usually works better and keeps everyone a little more motivated. But its your build. Do I want to join in? Well......I DO have this original AMT '61 Starliner kit that I'm going to build as a replica stock. C'mon, Lee....you're not gonna twist my arm, are ya?
  21. I've been in the trucking business 30+ years, and the Lonestar is the coolest truck I've ever seen. I don't build truck model....but I'll build THAT one! And as a DRIVER, I PREFER International trucks over any other....even Peterbilts. Just seems to be more room in them.
  22. This is great! I'll be watching this, as you don't see many of these, especially as a non-turbo T/A. Good choice!
  23. Bill is absolutley right, heres the link to the MCG set: http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/vie...p;idproduct=227 MCG also has a gauge set that contains photoetch bezels: http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/vie...p;idproduct=395 Keith Marks has a decal set that contains the gauges and air cleaner decals, and also has scripts: http://public.fotki.com/mofobow/dodge/char...gerrtblack.html Hope this helps. Good luck. BTW....on the MCG site, just go to "search" at the top of the page, and enter whatever you want to look for under "keyword"..
  24. Well, here I am again. I know its about time, but trust me, I HAVE been making a little progress here. Heres the latest updates on this project, which is nearing completion........... Got the engine finished and installed. Power brake booster is from the parts box, A/C hoses are a combination of parts from the '71 Charger and aluminum wire. Finally got the 8 3/4 rear end from the Charger narrowed to the proper length and installed......... And here is the body foiled with the glass and interior installed, but no decals yet.......... Like I said, I'm getting close.....next time you see it, it will be "Under Glass"! Thanks for looking.
