  1. Question for Matt, since this is HIS thread.....your website says "74 Camaro interior pieces" coming soon. Would that include the bucket seats, and if so, when will it be available? Thanks.
  2. None of my business, but is this what's meant by a thread getting "hijacked"?
  3. Looks good, but are you gonna tell us how it did in it's first race?
  4. I won't even make an effort to wire my own anymore after using these.
  5. Cool! My dad had brand new '61 Plymouth! Nice looking model. That guy on the right looks kinda shady....better watch him.
  6. Yep. I've also used WD-40 applied with a Q-tip, but plain ol' skin oil works great and it's hard to beat the price!
  7. If it was me, I would test assemble the roll cage and see how it fits the inside...if it looks good there, I would just use styrene strips to extend the T-Bird chassis outwards....actually, even if I had to adjust the cage, thats still what I'd do. And some resin bodies are much thicker than others.
  8. Looks good to me, and to get that residue off, take your finger and use it to get some skin oil from the side of your nose or forehead, and buff it off with that. Yes, it works.
  9. I haven't had that problem, but I usually use MCG looms.
  10. I use artists black watercolor, thinned about 10:1 (or until it flows well) with Tamiya acrylic thinner. If it gets on anything it shouldn't be on, just wipe it off with a damp cloth or Q-Tip.
  11. Sure wish I could do this. I've been wanting to build a Bonneville car ever since I visited the place 5 years ago. I might just jump in later, though......if I get some other projects finished. Just to fire some of you guys up and give you some inspiration, here's a little "Bonneville Salt Flats" slideshow......and you can truly see how varied the cars can be! http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner/bville-cars-3/phpslideshow.php?directory=.&auto=1&currentPic=1
  12. Other than MCM, FSM, and SA, the IPMS Journal, Landline (a trucking magazine published by OOIDA) and Auto Restorer. Everything else I get off the internet, where you ALWAYS get the truth.
  13. If you use it correctly, you don't need a sealer.
  14. Just placed an order myself for some stuff!
  15. You can get there from the link I posted above. Another board you might enjoy that deals primarily with short track cars is Scale Racing Lobby.
  16. Holy moly.....I'm so sorry, Jerry.....I don't know how I could have forgotten about Gator's bodies! I guess thats what happens when I try to post something before my morning coffee! Gator's vacuform bodies would actually be better than resin because of the scale thickness. Check 'em out!
  17. Man, I sure miss the NDRA. One of the best races I ever saw was the October 1979 NDRA race at Atomic Speedway in Knoxville TN. Anyway, it wouldn't be difficult to scratchbuild that body from sheet styrene or even sheet brass. The chassis could be based on the Revell ASA chassis, and you can get wheels/tires and other parts from Fred's Resin Workshop. Fred's also has the "milder" NDRA type bodies. Good luck, I'd love to see how it comes out!
  18. Except for the things you already know(valve cover emblems, air filter), I think they're very nice indeed. That '32 just looks soooooo right....or maybe it's just ME, tired of lookin' at rat rods! It's nice to see a well done street rod. S N J polishing powder is the only thing I've found that makes a bigger mess on the workbench than flocking.

  20. Does anybody cast a decent SU carburetor?
  21. Looks good so far, even though I would have went with the Magnum wheels (which would mean robbing a CORRECT set from a '67 GTX)....Lol! I LOVE the color combo! This will be a beautiful car. Michelle, Model Master Turquoise is an almost identical match for the Mopar color on these engines....so close, know one can tell the difference. It DOES dry kinda slow, so I always shoot some Testors clear lacquer over it.
  22. While it's not EXACTLY the same as what you're looking for, some photo-editing software programs have effects features that can make a photograph look like a pencil drawing.
  23. At 8 bucks a sheet, the Scale Motorsport decals are probably cheaper than buying materials to print your own. However, if all you want to do is a Mexican blanket, maybe THIS is what you need.......
  24. Scale Motorsport makes upholstery pattern decals that can be applied over a base color. I used their horizontal checkerboard pattern on these '61 Starliner seats...... You cut them to fit, and they apply just like regular decals. I see that they DO offer a Mexican blanket pattern. As far as printing them yourself....I suppose you could, you would need to find a pattern to print, and keep in mind that you can't print white. Good luck!
  25. If I didn't have such a full plate right now, I'd be all over this! Beautiful work so far, guys, keep it up!
