  1. I've been MIA for awhile due to a dead computer, but I DID manage to finish the '61 Starliner for the "Build as you would order/build a replica CPB". First, the real car: Now, heres the finished project. This is the original issue '61 Starliner customizing kit. Fender skirts are modified from a '59 Chevy. Photoetch scripts are from Missing Link. I tried to build the kit as close as possible to the way it was intended, and the meant using the rubber band hood retainer and the metal axles. I left off the side view mirrors because I couldn't find an exact match. Paint is Tamiya black. This was a fun build...I almost hate to send it to it's rightful owner!
  2. Exactly. Someone who knows how to use one of these could put most resin casters out of business. Instead of having to create a master by hand, making a mold which doesn't last long, and casting each piece, someone that knows how to use this thing could design a model on a computer and "print out" a couple hundred thousand copies, each one exactly like the one before it.

  4. Some may have had them, others might not have. I'm sure each car was different. Here's a picture of the Hot Wheels Camaro, and I see no tubs..... Tubs or no tubs, it sure is looking good! Seems there's been a lot of renewed interest in these cars lately.
  5. Like I really have time for another forum... , and yes, I signed up!
  6. Me too, and I thought he was a very skilled modeler to be so young! Happy birthday!!
  7. Shabo made BFG dry transfers that looked pretty good, but they were slightly oversized too and might be hard to find. Heres what they look like...... The Arii BFG DO look good, but they came as big and littles, and the bigs were pretty big.....probably TOO big for 1/25. Heres a set on a Monogram 1/24 T/A...... Good luck!
  8. To be quite honest, I didn't really think you have been THAT testy.....not anymore than a typical teenager, lol. When I was your age, I was quite testy too! Hey, theres a few more peeps here that are more easily provoked than you, for sure! Good luck with your exams, and sorry for the loss of your family members.
  9. Heated and stretched sprue makes good valve stems too. Since a real street car valve stem is wider at the base, you can cut a piece of the sprue right in the taper. Use black sprue and you don't even need to paint 'em.
  10. Dry to touch, an hour. Dry for a second coat, 24 hours.
  11. Now, THIS is what modeling is all about! Making something from nothing! I love it!
  12. Holy gloss black, Batman! Thats nice. Now you got me thinking....I wonder what a modern Lincoln MK VIII would look like, converted to a Futura, then converted to a crimefighting car....with big wheels, of course.
  13. Ok, ok, you twisted my arm....guess I'll break down and do it. Lol. I wonder if you would get a bonus if I told 'em you referred me? BTW, guys. a trojan is: "non-self-replicating malware that appears to perform a desirable function for the user but instead facilitates unauthorized access to the user's computer system." In other words, all the spyware and virus protection in the world isn't gonna help if YOU let it in, which is usually the case with this stuff. I've seen a rash of this coming from different Facebook applications lately, was why I asked. Here's one tip I can offer. If you see ANYTHING weird pop up that says something like "DANGER, YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED", then IMMEDIETLEY turn your computer off....do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not click on anything or try to "X" out of it...just reach for the switch and shut it off (or unplug it, if its a desktop). 9 times out of 10, when you restart, you'll be fine....just clean out your temp files and run your spyware scan. Good luck. Again, I think people should go to JAIL for doing this stuff.. .
  14. I'll be praying for you and your family too. Good luck. You are a true ambassador to the hobby.
  15. Isn't that a form of extortion, which is a FELONY? I know a lot of the creeps that write this stuff are overseas, but still, it looks like some people should be going to jail for this. Anyway....First rule is to make sure you have all your important stuff backed up. Bill Geary recommends Carbonite, an online service, which is priced reasonably and I'm sure its a good company....but as conspiracy minded and paranoid as I am, I simply back my stuff up on flash drive memory sticks (password protected, of course), and update it about every 2-3 weeks, or whenever I add photos or something. Then, no matter what happens, you got your important stuff saved. Next, buying a new computer because you got a bug in your old one is sorta like buying a new car cause your old one had a flat tire. If it was working fine before, simply fix it, or pay the Geek Squad 50 bucks to fix it. I've seen a bunch of these "DANGER-YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED" pop-up scams lately. Some are more difficult than others, but most can be fixed without reformatting. If you don't know much about computers, download Spybot (free) and learn how to start your computer in "safe mode".....then, when you get a bug, you have some ammunition to fight back with. Now, I have a question for you guys that are getting this malware. Out of curiosity, how many of you are on Facebook? Just askin........
  16. Hmmmm......interesting! Thanks!
  17. Got any Tri-5 T-Birds? I need some inspiration for '57 project I been puttin' off.....
  18. Good luck! You can do it! It almost sounds like a Magnum P.I. diorama! Post some W.I.P. pics!
  19. Looks awesome, but I DO like those Novas! Is it your own design, or based on a real car?
  20. Yes, movies and TV shows back in the day DID have violence......but its not the same as it is now. Theres a lot of difference between a bad guy getting shot, grabbing his chest, and falling to the ground and a bad guy getting shot, bullets visibly ripping his flesh open and blood squirting everywhere. This is one reason todays youth are the way they are....they're de-sensitized to the violence. They think its normal. I'm a huge fan of Airwolf, which had a LOT of violence....but again, its not the same as things are now...I can easily watch it with the kids in the room. Todays shows are just....well, disturbing. I enjoy sitting and watching Dukes of Hazzard reruns with my two boys, ages 6 and 10. There's NO WAY I'd let them watch that awful Dukes movie. We also watch A-Team reruns....The ONLY thing this movie might have in its favor is Stephen J. Cannell, who made the TV show, has a hand in the writing. Yes, Dave....I remember Gunsmoke very well. It was my dads favorite show, but he wouldn't let us kids watch it.....said there was too much shootin' in it!
  21. This is fantastic!
  22. It might be ok, but the way Hollywood does things nowadays I'm not getting my hopes up.
  23. Hey, its a build-up of a TKM resin model!
  24. Thats pretty much what happened in the O.J. case, wasn't it?
  25. Well, I'm a Pontiac fan, but Robert, this has blown Olds wrote all over it! I like it!
