No, now pay attention. Are is for plurals,Is is for singular people, and Am is for yourself. ZZ Top is not plural, ZZ top is one band, made up of three people, but they are still just one singular band. So to say,ZZ Top is playing on the radio while you build models. Would be correct. Had to keep it model related.I'll probably get busted again, bigtim. -

A-P-P-A-L-A-C-H-I-A-N Did I get it correct? Tomatoe-Potatoe and around here they are referred to as maters and taters. Just funnin' ya Harry.bigtim -

Question for the Mopar guys
timc replied to timc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)

Here goes. Can anyone help with the paint color on the revell 69 Dart GTS kit?I remember it was a very common color. You would see it on four doors and two doors, mostly on the Dodge Darts and Plymouth Scamps. The color looks to be a pebble beige. Can anyone help with the correct name or paint codes please. I'm trying to build my 69 with this color. It's gonna have a set of black steelies (no caps) and white wall tires, and no badges or engine callouts.I'm still gonna use the 383 or the 440 from the 68 kit. (can you say sleeper?) Any help with the paint color and codes will be greatly appreciated,Thanks bigtim.

Miami Vice Daytona Spyder - built one?
timc replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
rob,I asked the same question two weeks ago. I didn't get many replies back.maybe the guys on here don't know me well enough to reply, i don't know. But I will keep an eye out for the replies that you get, ok? It is a kit of a kit car. I did some research and the real Daytonas were too expensive for filming.Or so they say. I am currently looking for a kit of the real ferrari daytona to complete my ferrari stable. sorry for interupting your post, bigtim. -
Just when you got the new Shelby Mustang kit...

Having owned an 84 GT.Built 5.0, trick flow headers,3" x pipe exhaust.Warner 5 speed and yes an 8.8 posi trak solid rear axle. Daily driver ?,yes as long as I could keep the foot out of it.It handled really well around here.( I'm 40 miles from Darin) As for the solid axle, that's what it was SOLID.It could handle a 5grand clutch drop and still cruise through town quietly to keep the po-po's of my tail.(no cat converters) Man I miss my mus-horse(muscle horse).I could pull low 14's through the 1/4 mile all nite long and still cruise through Bristol on the way home. As for the solid axle,it might not be exotic but it sure does work. Why cange it? I have a friend that drag races mustangs. His car would lauch so hard that the body would twist. One nite before he added sub-frame connectors,it twisted so bad that the windshield popped out on the hood. All this with a solid axle. Just my 2 cents.sorry for ramblin on,bigtim. -
Ok guys and girls? I have the MV Daytona kit and I would like to see some of them built up.Also any other cars from the show. Are there any bugs or gremlins in the kit that might jump up and bite me during assemly? You know bad fits or assemly steps to look out for. I'm not to fond of the vette engine but after researchin it was a knock-off kit car anyway ,I might change the intake set-up for something a bit more speedy. So come on guys lets have some feed back and some pictures please. Thanks bigtim.

I'm not going to say happy veterans day ,but I will say have a good day to all my brothers. The reason being if you are a vet some things you don't want to remember but will never forget, second if your not avet take time to say thanks and honor the veterans. My father was a WW2 vet,my brother is a marine corp vet,Viet Nam '67-'69,and I am a Desert storm vet. To all my brothers before me and to all who will come after me,HAVE A GOOD ONE . Retired SGT E5 Timothy L Cassady Combat Engineer 1987 -2001 Red Castles forever HOO_AHH

I'm gattin ready to start riding again myself.Gonna restore my old Huffy Thunder Trail bike, just so I can ride 1/4 mile wheelies again. Looked at a Raliegh Circa I-8 today for some serious riding on the Appalachain Trail and the local bike trails here.I'm just wondering if the $550 price tag is good and it comes with lifetime free maintenance at the shop.I know the whole bike is under 30 lbs,so I geuss it would be worth it. Gonna get back in shape some how. bigtim

Revell '40 Ford Coupe Hot Rodded 60's style - Completed
timc replied to Bernard Kron's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I have tried on three different ocasions to build the revellogram kit. All three ended up as failures and were donated to the parts bin. I have a question though. Will the revell frame fit under the amt kit with little or no modifications. I still have two vigin revell frames and would like to lose the amt molded in details.Any help is greatly appreciated. YOUR PAINT LOOKS AWESOME, I'll keep an eye on your build.bigtim -
Sorry I don't know how to add text after the pics. The dart was painted using this process. 1. plasticote white sandable primer 2. a light fogging of Testors one coat Lime Ice 3. a heavier fogging of color 4.a light wet coat gave it a 10 min flash time 5. a mid wet coat with same flash time 6. the final wet coat and did not touch it for a week 7.added decals and bare metal foil and waited another week 8.shot a light coat of the wetlook clear (same brand of paint) 10 min flash 9.shot the 2nd wet coat with 10 min flash 10. shot the last wet coat a little heavier and set aside for two weeks. I do not own a polishing kit,so the finish you see is straight from the can.I'm pleased with the results.bigtim.
