FWIW....For curves I put a strip of Tamiya tape on a piece of glass and, with a new #11 blade and a straight edge, cut strips as thin as I like, .5 mm strips are easily made and are pretty flexible.

Right off the showroom floor, nice job

......like the GTO's from a few years ago.........a great car even with the plastic interior.....they would have been a lot more popular with a rebody to add some of Pontiac's character.......and not Grand Am "character" either

Thanks guys!!!! Louis- the chassis is the Bonneville kit chassis with the ride height adjusted. .....you're right Fordh8r, I should have taken some outside pics, it definitely would have shown the blue better. Maybe next time

I have some progress pics I have yet to download, but I'll use this one for starters. I'm not a big Nascar fan(too cookiecutter), but I like the early 80's and earlier when the cars had some character, so here we go. From the 1975 Daytona we have Dave Marcis' K&K Chrger and Bobbie Allisons Matador, and the 1979 Daytona Winner-Richard Petty's STP Oldsmobile. These are all going to be built curbside, but I have a ton of work to do to get the bodies corrected. The Olds is a SMS Resin body. I wish I would have taken some closeup pics before grinding, because this body was thick. It's all good now a snuggles down on the 80's Monte Carlo chassis real nice. I am working on the Charger body now and have a lot of corrections done already, but I still need to add the S/E vents where the 1/4 windows would be, should prove interesting. For the Matador, I need to hog out the wheelwells, but the rest of that body looks pretty good. I'll update as soon as I can. Thanks for lookin'

Vans are cool :P

Finished this up two weekends ago and finally got the pics sorted. It's was an old builtup, AMT body, chassis, and glass, the steering wheel and column came from the AMT 62 Bonneville, I made the shifter and boot, and the interior, bumpers, wheels & tires are from Modelhaus. The paint is Nocturne Blue lacquer. That's it for this one, on to the next. BTW don't mind the resin dust, I've been doing a little grinding Thanks for lookin'

Thanks George.

Everything else is assembled now too , just need to mount the door(maybe fender) mirror. Speakin' of fender mirrors....is there a kit source for these mirrors?????????? .....if not I have a mirror from a 66 GTO I planned to mount on the door. Anyway.........here's the finished interior and dash, I stole the column and steering wheel from a 62 Catalina kit and made the shifter and boot. I'll post finished build pics after I get that mirror installed See Ya, and thanks for lookin'.

COOL! I really like this. Is that the 50 Chevy kit frame?
-
Does anyone know if the 55 and 57 pro-sportsman kits have the same chassis and engine parts or are they different. TIA
-
Very cool. I have this one in my stash, I don't think I have ever seen it built up besides on the box sides. Makes me wanna build it.

The interior is coming along nicely. I need to flock, foil a couple things and do some paint touch up, but I'm calling the tub pretty much done. After a nightmare foiling session on the dash, it's finally ready for some detail painting. The pic makes the foil look way rougher than it looks in person....... either that or my eyes are finally going:) This is getting the 8 lugs in the end, but I like playing with wheels and thought these looked great on here. They're from the big wheeled 66 Galaxie release, almost seem made for the car.........like a Hurst wheel. With any luck I will be posting finished pics this weekend, thanks for stoppin'.

I got one that I built for a club Diorama. It's the Dick Tracy 36 Ford made into a farm car and my first attempt at Rust-all. It was supposed to get chicken in a cage in the rumble seat but I ran out of time before we took the pics. I did add a few dents and scrapes along the way though. -
Straight from the horses mouth, thanks for the info and the great decals. I have a couple of sheets, probably going to have to order a couple more in the near future. I'm hoping you get bored someday and start up again

Been working on this one for a month or so. Started with an old built up. I stripped everything down and due to way many glue marks on the seats and windows I ordered a new interior and windows from Modelhaus. I also ordered 8 lug wheels and some tires as well. The model came with new Modelhaus front and rear bumpers so I was good there. Luckily, the body was near perfect, with no damage at all. With BMF, I masked all the emblems and front fender/door mouldings for the paint process so they would be as crisp as possible. The body and trim are all done and I will hopefully finish the interior this weekend. BTW she's getting built curbside so there will be no engine/chassis work to do on this one. Thanks for lookin'

The Last Detail has been out of business for awhile now. The only factory stock aftermarket decals that I know of are from Kieth Marks, but I don't know if he has much in the way of underhood details. That's all I know.

Hey Ed, I got a bag of blue ones at Hobby Lobby that I used for blue dots on my Big T. They had several colors and sizes. -
If you could only choose ONE photo of any of your builds, wich would it be?
novadose71 replied to JAFFA's topic in Model Cars
I really like these post em if ya got em threads, kinda like a theme table of sorts. I'm going to cheat a little on this one. The Big T in my sig is my fav right now, that's why it's there. But since it's already up I'll have to go with an outdoor shot of my 59 El Camino/ Chris Craft combo accelerating from a stop sign on our club diorama.
