Two of my latest curbside projects. I am building the 71(blue in pic) stock for a customer from a promo. It will be Electric Blue with a white T-stripe and twin vinyl tops, blue interior, Rebel wheels, right off the showroom floor. The 73(orange)will be a metallic brown street machine, tan interior, gold T-stripe, 73 style brown vinyl top, Aluminum Slots and big meats ,The blower hole is cut, but needs some minor tweaking, and I built a bracket to mount the blower on(it is curbside after all). I'm going to try to scratchbuild some Doug Thorley style sidepipes also. This is how I usually picture these cars. I might even try some lace panel painting on this 70's monster. I'm hoping to have the vinyl top trim done on both next weekend, so I can think about getting these in paint. Lots of overtime at work lately so I'll try to update as time allows. Thanks for stoppin' by.

The 68 GTE is one I would really like to see cast.

That's a sweet little Chevy II, ditto on the color.

I don't know, I can't stop laughing  ...OK....OK...... I just hope it's a model, I'd hate to think about that thing crawling the streets .....

First big scale kit, finished 2 years ago. Worked pretty steady for about 6 months on this one. Built as a restored vintage racer yet to see it's first race. Custom mixed blue lacquer, HoK Tangelo pearl for the stripes, and a several cans of metalizer for the engine. A friend printed the roundels on his Alps. The rest of the markings are from the kit. It still blows me away that with some 400 parts, this thing was such a breeze(haha, sort of) to assemble, almost everything fell together. Painting everything is a whole other story. Thanks for lookin. Happy New Year.

I've only painted black trim on two models. Both times I just applied bare metal foil to the trim as usual, burnishing only where I intend to cut. Peel off the side to be painted, lightly burnish the cut edge with a blunted toothpick to seal it ............and paint. I airbrushed mine, which involves a lot more masking, but brushing would work just as well. That's all I know about that.

Very nice and clean build.

I used HoK throughout, except the clear(Plastikote): Candy red and candy cobalt blue for color, for the base I mixed 50/50 black pearl and sno white pearl, sprayed a few coats for coverage, gave a quick coat of sno white over that to bring out the highlights, then shot the Kandy/three coats of clear, sanded flat, then 4 more coats clear, sanded and polished within an inch of it's life. I hope to do some WIP's on my current projects soon. too. Thanks. Later.

Due to an overload of projects (currently 5 w/deadlines), and with the start of our club build for NNL Milwaukee looming, this one is getting mocked up and put on the in progress shelf of my display case for a while. Since last post it has been re-cleared and polished. I didn't like the blue I had painted the interior, so I repainted it in black w/blue pearl, it's looks much better, interior will get dark red carpet eventually. I also managed to destroy the turbo's while trying to drill them out doh! so now I'm watching them on ebay. Hate to put it away being so close to done, but what are you gonna do. Enjoy the parting shots. a a abideeabidee That's all folks!...........for now anyway.

Nice job on that. I've never seen one built. I recieved, about a year ago from a friend, this reissue and an original Mark I? version with the aluminum cockpit. I did a little research initially, and they have an interesting history and the cars are cool too. They're both close to the top of my project pile, I might have to dig through the boxes tonight.

Yeah, I've got 4 wheel drums on my 71 Nova too, it used to try to jump curbs when I stabbed the brakes . Anyway, Dad's Chevelle is a Power Tour Long Hauler 4-5 times now(3800 miles last year alone), done a partial tour a few more times, drives to the Chevelle Nationals in Tennessee(from Iowa) almost every year, and all over heck during the summer months, and now he's retired. I know he replaced everything(stock parts) when he got it, around 10yrs ago, in all the miles he has driven he hasn't mentioned anything scary with the brakes.....yet. Thanks for lookin'

Some engine shots.

Here's one I did a few years ago for my Dad as a gift. A replica of his 1/1 Chevelle. It's a Lindberg kit, MCG photoetch set, underdash gauges, and some interior junk. Some scratchbuilding, kitbashing, under hood detailing, and photoreduced plates. Thanks for looking, comment at will.

Very classy looking. I am about to start a 56 Vic build myself, in the car on the way to see relatives this weekend. Hope it looks as nice as yours when it's done. Any problems to look out for through my build?

I have bought plenty of resin parts(wheels, hoods, etc) in the past, but I just got my first resin body last week. I have been wanting a first year Cougar for a long time, I almost bought a 1/1 last summer, but let it get away, so I did the next best thing................got one in scale. Ordered the 67 Cougar body and stock interior transkit from Reliable Resin. Nicely cast, not a pinhole to be found. It looks injection molded with the flash cleaned off. And no, I haven't been compensated for this shameless plug, but with a couple of seemingly bad aftermarket sellers in the last few months(or more), I thought I would take the opportunity to point out a good one. Thanks for your time, have a wonderful day.

Man it's been a good past few days. My resin 67 Cougar body and interior from Reliable resin came in the mail a couple days ago, and then, last night at our club meeting I got a Big T (sweet) in a stash raid we have been doing......and a deadline of around a year to finish it or face an embarrassing public flogging. Is it Christmas already?????Can I still say Christmas? ...................................Christmas?.............CHRISTMAS?

Yeah, I noticed the newer style roof, but it was going to get the split vinyl roof as a '72, so I figured it wouldn't be noticeable. I ordered the proper taillights and panel from Modelhaus earlier this week, and will get another promo to do a 72 AMX later. Wish I would have known all this and just got a promo to begin with, but that's the way it goes. Thanks -
I'm liking the lines on that bike. Looks great so far.

I don't know.

Funny you should mention it. The new issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines has an article on an Alabama Trooper 72 Javelin clone. The idea to build one has crossed my mind a few times, but I'll probably stick with my original plan.
