The Value of a Thunderbird (1958-1966)
sfhess replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When I was looking to purchase my first car in 1973, there were a lot of 64-66 Thunderbirds for sale for about $500. Most of them had at least one inoperable power window, and the foam in the driver's armrests was ripped out where you would grab to pull the door shut. I ended up getting a full-sized Ford. -

69 Catalina. Bonneville would have an "Endura" pad in that recess in the rear bumper. -
When can we expect to see issue 226
sfhess replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
For every issue of MCM there are "When is issue XXX coming out?", "I got my copy of issue XXX", "I haven't got my copy of issue XXX yet" threads. There is a comment regarding this on the Spotlight board today. I have some faith in MCM. I recently renewed my subscription for two years. Keep up the good work, Gregg and staff! -
What did you see on the road today?

This reminds me of the circus I saw a few nights ago. While filling my car's fuel tank, several people drove their big ATVs into the gas station, noisy, lots of colorful flashing lights and loud stereos. -
When can we expect to see issue 226
sfhess replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
There is no "bi-monthly schedule". The powers that be at Model Cars Magazine announced some time back that they would publish new issues when they had enough material to make publishing an issue worthwhile. Note that there is no month/months on the cover, just the issue number. -

That would be Steve Saavedra. Cool guy. I haven't seen him for a long time myself. -

My car club (Southern California Cougar Club) meets at Chili's in Cypress every month. The place I worked, where I drove the Datsun pickups, was in North Hollywood, in the early 70s. -
