One of the NNL West organizers told me that they had a "grandfathered" rental rate with the convention center for many years. I heard that there had been a change in the management group for the Convention center and the reduced rate was taken away. We all know that in the past few years many of the NNL West organizers have passed away. As Dave said, there were no firm plans for succession and no one willing to step in and help organize the show. As many who organize model car shows know, a lot of these events are dependent on the efforts of a small handful of dedicated individuals. The venue for the show I help organize has had several management changes since our show's inception. Each time this has happened there has been uncertainty over our status with the venue, but we have communicated with the management and have been able to keep our date with the venue.

From my observation, the engines in most late-model pickups are shoved so far back in the engine bay, in a recess in the firewall, that they are almost impossible to work on. I bet my Outback engine is easier to work on, and it's pretty tight due to its configuration.

Ford never got the transmission in the Taurus right. The "powershift" twin clutch trans in the 2012-up Focus was a joke. They should have ;looked at what made the C6 and FMX work and last so well.

When they have enough material to make it worthwhile to publish an issue. It's NOT bimonthly.

We drove the portion of 93 from the junction of highway 6 in Nevada to Twin Falls at the end of May, on our way to Gooding, ID. Nice drive. We spent a lot of travel time on that trip off the interstates.

I did pretty much the same thing on my then-new Honda CB900F on US 395 in August 1981 while returning from Yosemite National Park, for a minute or two. The speedo read to 85 MPH and there was a pin at that point to stop it from going any farther. I got it up to about 9000RPM in 5th gear. where a tiny wobble encouraged me to slow down. I figured about 120 MPH. After that, 55-60 felt like walking.

Remember that the 4-door Maverick has a longer wheelbase than the 2-door, so it wouldn't be a simple body change

The "Street Machine" 69 Cougar (molded in tan styrene) still has the XR 7 parts. The later 428CJ and Eliminator versions Lost the XR 7 seats and badging. Those versions have high-back front seats.

There was a guy near my home in Granada Hills, Ca who had a Corvair with a Olds Toronado drivetrain mounted in it. Someone in Provo, Utah in the early 70s had a shortened 4-door 65-up Corvair with a front-engine/rear drive that was powered by a small block of some sort. It looked pretty wicked at the local autocross. Very nimble. Driver did most of the steering with the throttle

One of the best-looking pickups ever. I haven't seen one with those wheel covers in a long time.

While out roaming around today I saw two Kia Stingers and one of those new electric 2-door Dodge Chargers

Olds 442s did not come as a crew cab. That's a Cutlass, not a Tempest.

Manager at my LHS told me that most of his distributors have asked him to accept smaller margins on the products he sells. He cannot make enough money to stay in business by doing this. IMO no one at any level will be willing to absorb the additional cost due to the tariffs. The end consumer will foot the bill.
