  1. Yeah, I was just going to use the decals from a combo set.
  2. Hi Aaron, I want to build 1/25 versions of the original Hotwheels versions. The guy at Competition Resins did say that his Cuda and Mongoose bodies would be good for the Carefree cars. I might end up building them instead?
  3. Hey Chris, if you'd like to see the box art of those kits, you can check out my Fotki site. There's pics of the original funny cars, the rear engine dragsters, the front engine dragsters, the reissue set plus a few other kits. They are in the "Model kits in one room of my home", folder. Pics 11, 16 and 17. Sorry for the bad pics. I really need to retake all those pics. There's twice as many kits in there now. http://www.public.fotki.com/lotso
  4. Hey Mike, yeah, I don't think I want to go to that much trouble. The bad thing is, If I super detail the 1/24 kits, all I would be doing is making a copy of the Hot Wheels Legends cars. They are VERY detailed!!!!!!!!!!! I just hate the roof mounted spoiler that they chose for those cars. I have entertained the thought of taking the Monogram plastic bodies and putting them on the diecast chassis'. That would yield a more realistic model (as if it had a fiberglass body) and the spolier would be on the trunk!
  5. I consider each model box a "building block of happiness"! I'm pretty darned happy, I can tell you that!!!!!!!!
  6. Hey Chris, the original red Mongoose and yellow Snake cars have only been done as 1/24 kits by Monogram. They actually scale a little bigger than that, maybe 1/22? I called Competition Resins about an hour ago and the guy there (didn't get his name) stated that his Cuda and Mongoose bodies would be good to build the Carefree red and yellow cars or the blue Mongoose and white Snake but not the original red and yellow cars. Different greenhouse position on the Duster, wrong grille and I forget what he said about the Cuda? I thought the Cuda would work but he claims it would be wrong?
  7. LOL, that's why I want to do them in 1/25. I have six of those combo sets, two of each original kit, a couple built and all the Hotwheels Legends and Legends to life versions. Just thought it would be cool to do them in a really detailed 1/25 version.
  8. Hey guys, who makes the best, resin Cuda body in 1/25 to replicate the yellow Cuda Prudhomme ran. Also, would the recent release of the Navy Mongoose be accurate for the red Mongoose? And last, would I have to scratch build the chassis? I think that style chassis (I forget the name?) was only used in the Monogram 1/24 kits? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  9. SWEEET! Congrats on your win!!!!!
  10. Anyone have pics of what all you get in the kit? I heard it comes with several light bars? I really want to get a couple of these but I am just curious as to the contents. Disregard, I just found the kit, contents pics further down in the reviews section. SWEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. So, what your saying is, their 1/25. Not 1/24 but 1/25. Just above 1/24 but just below 1/26. But that would actually mean that they are 1/25, smaller than the 1/24 but a smooch bigger than 1/26, being that they're 1/25 and not 1/24 or 1/26.....but 1/25. right?
  12. Lookin great so far! Your almost there! Just carefully put some Bare Metal Foil on it and your contest ready!
  13. Are you sure your not thinking of the Funny Hugger Camaro? I do like the rewording! LOL
  14. Ahhh, I see! I don't have photoshop. I really need to look into it though! I sent your modified version to my decal guy. I don't know if I caught him in time as I haven't heard back from him yet.
  15. Are the beds 1/25 or 1/24? Please post pics if you get one or if you know where some pics are at?
  16. Here's the link to the graphics site. http://www.graffiticreator.net/
  17. How did you make the "M" bigger? I couldn't figure out how to change the letters? It's actually too late as I sent it to the guy that makes my decals a couple days ago.
  18. The monster truck beds are short beds. No long bed in that body style has ever been made in a 1/25 or 1/24 plastic kit. There was a resin caster in Germany (I forget the name, Scale something)that had a resin transkit to make a correct Fall Guy pickup in 1/25 and it includes a very nice long bed. There were a couple different casters here in the US that offered a long bed dually in that body style but it's 1/25 and is designed to be used with the Fall Guy kit to complete it.
  19. Cool model!!!!!!!! Interesting story too!
  20. I had called Chrome Tech and asked about plating resin parts. He said he really did not like plating resin parts. I contacted The Little Motor Kar Co. and the owner said he has a specific way that he plates resin parts and has no problem doing them. I have about ten trees all ready to be sent to him!
  21. She'll be in my prayers for sure....
  22. LOL, I like that, Cometkazi!
  23. Congrats on your score! I feel your pain as well! I can't tell you how many times I've spent over a hundred bucks on a sealed original kit just to see it re-released a month later and sell for twenty bucks! Oh well, it just means I can buy more of them to build em different ways or use em for parts! (And leave the original alone! )
