I know of the companies selling the tiny brass and stainless rivets and was considering using them but now with these 3D rivet transfers, theres no drilling, no cutting the stems off the rivets and no placing one by one. All you have to do is draw a straight line and place the pre spaced rivets "decal" over your line and your done! My rivets should be here tomorrow (6/7) and i'll be posting pics as soom as I install them.

I don't know Hawaiian but our painter at work is from there and he is constantly throwing the word "dakine" into his sentences when he's trying to explain something.

Hey guys, thanks for the suggestions. Another member stated that he has really great results from a product called "Icing" from USC Autobody. I went out and picked some up. This stuff is really smooth even before adding the hardner!

Hello, I am currently using Tamiya two part putty with an automotive catalyst. (I think it came with some Evercoat putty) The putty works fine but it would work even better if I could thin the mixture so it will spread easier. Does anyone know what could be used that won't attack the plastic too much?

You might try Fred's Model World. He gets truck kits in every month. You really have to start checking from the 1st of the month until he updates his list. It could get updated on the 1st or the 5th,you never know. I don't know the link but if you type Fred's Model World on Google, it should come up.

That is an awesome job!!!!!!! I love those little kits!!!! I recently bought all eight of the regular ones and I intend on buying all eight of the metallic body ones when they come out!

I have done a little research myself on Archer Transfers and decided to order the large surface detail screws and rivets and the sheet of the biggest rivets they offer. The sheets I ordered say that they are of the dry transfer type though, not a wet slide decal type? I won't know for sure until I get them but if they work well for replacing rivets that get sanded off during body work, i'll be ordering more for sure!!!!

That's a Detroit Series 60. I have the actual paint used on the real engine. It's a medium blueish grey. You can get the actual engine paint from the auto parts store. -
The word "cool", just doesn't do it justice!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh, I see. I was talking with a guy a good while back that was primarily into Star Trek stuff but he was really into the Snake and Mongoose cars as well. He said he was planning on making all the decals needed to make most of the cars they had.He was even going to do them in 1/16. I lost his email when I changed computers. I thought maybe you had used the same guy?
-
VERY coooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who makes those decals? Do they make the Mongoose II decals as well? Is the sheet specific to that body? (does it have the grill and headlights that would fit that opening)

Yep, that looks like a King Dome satelite dish. I install those at work on the RV's. Pretty neat idea! -

Zoli, I will give you a set of my wheels if you'll use them on one of your builds! You could make some very unique looking rigs. Do you like the rigs that have the painted two hole budds with the chrome lug nut covers and center caps? I make those wheels. They would just need to be chromed and painted. I noticed that a lot of the bigger hazmat rigs and tiller tractors are using the high float five hole on the front. I make that wheel and theres a wider version of the Trumpeter ALF tire out there that fits it perfectly. What are you doing with all the kits that your getting the wheels from??????? http://images9.fotki.com/v450/photos/3/1602553/8554796/25thtenholes3-vi.jpg http://images20.fotki.com/v533/photos/3/1602553/8554796/Chrometwohole-vi.jpg

Hey Zoli, i've always admired your builds! Really great stuff! There's just one little thing about them that I don't understand. Why do you keep using the old, outdated AMT split rim ten hole wheels when there are so many nice, modern wheels available these days??? I myself have mastered probably twenty different truck wheels in 1/25 and 1/24. I do the nice Alcoa ten holes and my masters actually have machined aluminum acorn lug nuts and center cap to make them "full dress". I do two hole wheels the same way. I recently mastered a deep offset five hole that is used on a lot of equipment as well. I have in my hand, an Allison HD4560 automatic transmission in 1/25 (the one started by Klaus Lassen) and I also make a Detroit Diesel Series 60 that has been extensivly modified to fit the Trumpeter ALF but could be used for any modern equipment. Please don't think i'm critisizing your work! I know it's some of the best out there!!!! I'm just wanting to make you aware of what's out there so you can make your rigs look even better!!!!! I would be pretty proud to see my wheels on one of your trucks! Take a look at my Fotki site in the folder titled "Model Truck Wheels" and see what you think. www.public.fotki.com/lotso
