  1. The most common wheels sizes for trucks today is 22.5" and 24.5" The older trucks with split rims were 20" in Dia.(the wheels had a seperate ring that allowed for easier tire installation but were outlawed due to too many injuries when inflating a tire.) Hope this helps?
  2. I think 70.00 for an all new truck kit of this caliber is more than fair! If a 70.00 kit seems expensive than your in the wrong hobby! I have one project i'm working on right now that so far, has almost 1000.00 in aftermarket parts just to get the results i'm wanting! I could build this Lonestar kit for 70.00 right out of the box and be more than happy with the results!!!! These days most Italeri and Revell kits run in the 50.00 to 70.00 range and there about half as detailed as this new kit will be. Not to mention it's the first NEW and accurate truck kit we've seen in many years!!!!!! I can't wait to order a case of em!
  3. VERY cool Matt!!!!!!!! Nice work!
  4. First we would need to know what engine and trans you plan on putting in the car? I have a real 69 Camaro with a small block Chevy and a Turbo 350 transmission. I can help you out with any questions you may have on that particular setup.
  5. WOO HOO!!!!!!! PROGRESS! That's great to hear Dave!!!!!!
  6. Those are some awesome lookin rigs Tim!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. It all depends on how shiny you want the paint. I would suggest wet sanding the primer, then wet sanding the paint. At that point, the clear may turn out nice enough to where you don't need to wet sand it. If it has any dust or orange peel, you should wet sand it though.
  8. Hi Chris, Ben here. Thanks for the compliments! You can see some of the wheels i've mastered on my Fotki site. www.public.fotki.com/lotso Have a look at the folder titled "model truck wheels"
  9. I really amazed at the level of detail on the Hudson and Chrysler kits!!!!! The chassis detail on both is awesome! It's making me want the Lonestar kits even more!!!!
  10. Wow! I bet that was tedious! But a beautiful job as always!!!!
  11. I know someone on here that makes wheel masters for trucks (hint, hint) and if those wheels are not produced in plastic then i'l........I mean he'll be mastering them to be cast in resin! www.public.fotki.com/lotso
  12. Hey Jim, glad I could help!
  13. Plano Model Products has several different "HO" scale scatch builders photo etch screen that is PERFECT for use in 1/25 and 1/24 truck grills and air cleaners! I even talked him into making the style with the Peterbilt ovals in it. If you get ahold of him, tell him Ben sent you! You can see pics of how the screen looks in my Fotki albums. www.public.fotki.com/lotso
  14. Go to YouTube and in the search box type, stereolithography. There's a video showing a 3D printer making a little wine cup right before your eyes! Pretty cool to watch!
  15. That's too cool!!!!!!! How did you make the mrble looking counter tops? Nice work!!!!!
  16. VERY nice work on that Hy-Ranger setup, Dave!!!!!!!
  17. Wow! That is really cool!!!!!!!!
  18. Gary Wallace (GW Trucks) sells machined styrene C channel in 16" lengths to make longer frames without having to glue three strips together to form on rail. He sells them, three pairs for 20.00!
  19. That is sad! I would never park my Camaro out of site like that though!!!! I won't even go into a resturaunt if I can't park it right in front of the window where I can watch it. I also have three hidden kill switches that only I can find without tearing the car apart! It would be a shame if those thieves were hit by a truck, run over by a train, smashed by a falling building and eaten alive by dogs.......I mean seperatly. If that all happens to them at once, that would be funny! Do you know what i'd do if I saw one of them with only half a head? I'd stop laughing and reload!
  20. I know Brad Wike (who now owns the Duel truck)would be happy to let Moebius crawl all over it for reference!
  21. Now THAT is an awesome idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd buy a case of those too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Hey Dave, is that a standard or automatic transmission? Looking at the bottom side it kind of looks like a large square pan so it's hard to tell?
  23. Awesome job so far!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be buying at LEAST four of them!!!!!!!!
  24. Hey Jairus, thanks! Yeah, that stuff stinks but it sure strips good!
  25. Hi, will the bleach remove the clear undercoat as well?
