  1. Hey Ken, yeah, a Nova or Camaro done correctly would be sweeeet! I have the Funny Hugger (at least they named it correctly) as well as the Dick Harrell 69 Camaro kit. I'm not sure how accurate the Dick Harell kit is, as I don't have many real pictures to reference too but having the knowledge of funny cars in general, I can see it blows the Funny Hugger kit out of the water! What i'd kill to see re-released is all the Aurora Racing Scenes stuff!!!! I have everything in the series except the two complete car kits. I'm on the hunt for em though!!!
  2. Lookin really good so far!
  3. Cool frame jig! That ought to keep it straight and level! I wanted to make something like that but to use after the axles are attached to make sure all the wheels sit on the ground correctly.
  4. Hey Charlie, i'm pretty sure she's looking for someone reasonable to cast the door handles. She may even have other items as well that she has run out of? Her number is listed on the website. I would give her a call and let her know.
  5. Ahh yes, that makes sense. I didn't think of that. I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of each kit! I hope Revell plans more new releases like this as well!
  6. From what i've seen, Otaki car kits are simplified attempts at American automotive subjects. I'm sure there are some good kits but A lot of them feature simplified, motorized type chassis and the body proportions appear as if Otaki only had photos to go by and not many measurements. I really like their wheel and tire sets though!
  7. Do those guys do metal spin casting? I thought they just cast in resin?
  8. I've been gathering parts for it for a while now. The Cummins Signature 600's was the biggest hurdle and now I have those in resin so all I have left is to have all the decals made.
  9. That interior looks sharp!!!! I plan on building the T2000 Red Racer with my kit. It won't have much of an interior as the real truck just has one seat with a roll cage.
  10. What has me puzzled is that the hood is a seperate piece? I can understand that in this way, they could use the same body for the Hustler and the Hawaiian but what about the roof escape hatches? On the Hustler it would be on the left of the roof and on the Hawaiian, it would be centered? Seems like they should have just tooled up two different bodies?
  11. Hey Jon, his wife called me yesterday and we talked for a bit, very nice lady. She told me that her husband passed away (i'm pretty sure she said four years ago?)and that she doesn't have any more handles to sell. They were having them cast by a guy in England and when she went to have more made, the caster told her that her husband had taken the masters back here with them, the last time they were there. She thinks the caster lost the masters and said her husband never brought them back here to the US. She said she still has a tree of them but she wants to use them as "new masters". I told her I would let her know if I find someone that can spin cast them for her.
  12. Are these actual models made to look like period paintings? If so, i'm awestruck!
  13. I think you mean "Castrol Super Clean". Castro super clean, is something found in Cuba on bath night! LOL
  14. If it looks anything like that Detroit you built, you bet it will need to be cast!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. This is pretty cool news! Too bad I already have four of the original Sunoco issues. I bet they won't have the problem this time that the originals had. After the tanker halves were plated, they were wrapped in butcher paper and placed into the boxes by hand. This led to many kits accidently getting two left halves or two right halves rather than a left and a right.
  16. Ok, here's the link to that company that has the really nice chrome plated metal handles. http://redlinemodels.com/index.html Now the bad news, I went to the website and I couldn't click on "door handles"? I called them to see if they are out of stock or what the situation is?
  17. I have some of the ones sold by PFS....don't waste your money on them!
  18. I just got a catalog from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland the other day. It does mention door handles but theres no picture of them so i'm not sure what they look like? I'm still waiting to hear back from my buddy on those nice chrome plated metal handles.
  19. I don't know dad??? I was just driving along, obeying the speed limit and the tires just popped!
  20. There is a company out there making really nice, chrome plated metal exterior door handles but I forget the name? I had it saved in an email with intent of ordering some but it must have been deleted by accident. I emailed my buddy who sent me the info to see if he remembers the company. I'll post it here as soon as I find out.
  21. Those are some really sharp looking rigs!!!!!!! I wish I could stick to one and finish it! LOL
  22. If you creat a detailed, sought after part, most casters will cast it for free and give you a few free copies in return for them being able to sell more copies to other people.
  23. I'm guessing this will be for a newer Dodge pickup project? Very nice so far! It would be a shame if you don't have it molded and cast once the master is finished! I can put you in touch with the guy that casts all my masters if your interested?
  24. that's about as funny as a funny car gets! LOL Very nice work!!!! (as always!)
  25. I built one, it's on my Fotki site but i'm not sure if it shows the cab mounts? www.public.fotki.com/lotso
