  1. Very nice! Never seen a bright orange Rolls before!?
  2. Tamiya has an upgrade kit for a 1/12 (I think) Honda that includes a chain. I think the chain is photo etch. I think it will work for what your wanting. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=tamiya+honda+upgrade+chain+set&psj=1&wrapid=tlif12886483210071&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=15610479647616965481&ei=lTbPTKlfhLyVB9DqneUI&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CB8Q8wIwAg#
  3. Been a technician all my life. Started out with motorcycles, moved to cars and trucks now I'm a master tech on the multi million dollar motor coaches.
  4. AAAHHHHHHHHHH, GIANT LEAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL That old Mack looks great!
  5. I'll be having Fred at FotoCut do my etching here soon. You can reach him at: oletcherfred@yahoo.com
  6. You have to remember, Hobby Lobby and places like that sell the kits at full retail, sometimes more! By the time you factor in that 40% off coupon, you'll be at the price that most online hobby sellers are geting for the same kit. I recently bought four of the Freightliner dual drive kits and I only paid about 23.00 a piece.
  7. I just recently mastered the parts to turn the Cat 3208 from the AMT L series kits into a 3208T in hopes of building a Roadway C tractor. I heard they were considered to be C8000's though?
  8. MAS is back in business?? COOL! I bought a bunch of stuff when the former owner closed shop. I thought they were gone for good! Thanks for the info!
  9. Hey Jeff, What I do when I want to detail a certain truck is to buy the old dealer brochure that covers that model. There's usually lots of great pictures showing all areas of the truck. You can find them on Ebay usually pretty cheap. If you don't find the one your looking for, scan the listings and look for seller names that tell you that they probably sell brochures as a business. Then you can contact them and ask if they have what your looking for. I've bought a bunch that way!
  10. For the Cummins beige, I used Tamiya XF-59 Desert Yellow mixed with a little Tamiya XF-55 Deck Tan.
  11. Actually, I am pretty sure Kit Form Services offers working trailer door hinges.
  12. I am wanting to build a Cat 3208T powered C8000 and I'm having some photo etch made for some other projects. Harald Weber, the guy that made all the other etch for the C series kits will be doing the art work so all he will need to do is change the numbers in that area. Is there anything else that is different, badge wise on the C8000?
  13. Bin???, who is this Bin person you speak of? Yes, the smallest hinge would work fine for the Pete doors. I used it to hinge the door on my sleeper that was just painted. There's pics of how it looks in the "W900L" project folder on my Fotki site. www.public.fotki.com/lotso
  14. Here's the stuff I'll be using. http://www.nelsonhobby.com/miniature-piano-hinges.html
  15. There was a very nice, very extensive photo etch set made for the AMT C series kits by Harald Weber of Germany. You can see pics in my Fotki albums in the "in progress" folder. www.public.fotki.com/lotso
  16. Model Car Garage has some really cool photo etch Peterbilt emblems that would fit perfect. All you have to do with them is brush a little red paint on them, scrape the raised surfaces with an Exacto and then place a drop of epoxy on it. It looks exactly like the real emblem! You can see pics in my Fotki albums. I think it's in the "In progress" album. www.public.fotki.com/lotso
  17. Stirring is good. I also like to put a few "BB's" in the bottle so that when you shake it, the BB's help in mixing the paint.
  18. VERY nice work!!!!!!!
  19. Lookin really cool so far!!!!!!!!! I'd stick with the chrome wheels, myself. I like those Pegasus slicks! I didn't even know they had drag stuff?
  20. For the weathered look, Floquil makes a lot of flat, dull looking colors designed for model railroaders. I bet they have a nice flat, dull washed out orange that would look good on an old plow!
  21. Man, I really need to stop checking this thread! I am really wanting to build a big bunk Astro now!!!!!!
  22. Ray, sorry for the late reply on this. I don't check this section very often. The newer style photo etch grille set I have is from Model Trucks and Parts.
  23. If you would rather just buy them, Parts by Parks makes really nice, real aluminum, spun discs in 1/25-1/24 scale.
  24. WHO, WHO, WHO??? That's my owl impersonation!
