  1. I am the same way.I have at least 6 kits 95% done but get hung up at the mirrors and door handles.I dont know how you guys do the small trim pieces,my eyes and hands dont let me do them.
  2. I picked up a 66 nova at Michaels and the 32 ford 'lil viky' plus the 66 ford galaxy from Hobby Lobby all with coupons of course. I print two coupons and I use one and the loml uses the other.
  3. There is a JD dealer not far from here so I will give them a try, thanks Tom.
  4. Wow,thanks for the choices.Looks like I will try krylon and or JD blitz if tractor supply has it and go from there.
  5. Ok now,I'm building the Revell five window and want to paint it satin/hot rod black. Is there a brand or shade of black that is spot on? I have tried to find it but it is always hit or miss.It is flat flat or almost shiny. I hate stripping so it would be nice if it would be right the first time out.Any Ideas?
  6. I was just going to suggest that BTD.I do that to any paint that has been hanging around for a while before I use it.
  7. I would love a 1965 falcon wagon,1966 dart and a 1965 dart.I have owned all and have owned my 65 dart gt for 25 years now.
  8. This topic is very timely.I moved some paint in my rack and what do I find but a can of dupli color paint leaking. It was an old can I got years ago. When I managed a parts store, we did a brand change on our paints and I got to cherry pick any colors I liked because they just chuck it in the dumpster anyways. This is the only one I have found in the touch up cans.Looks like I need to go through the rest of the boxes.
  9. I had a can do that a few months ago and thought it was just me.I used it and it sprayed fine and the color was good also. This can was also in a controlled environment.
  10. I had this kit when I was young.I have hoping it would come out sometime.
  11. Great job Tim,right color,right stance,right motor.I will take an"a" over a deuce any day.Looks like I will need a couple of these.
  12. Now why did you have to post that, you know I'm a tool junky. Now I got to have one.Well I'm ok with it,just dont tell the CFO (my wife).
  13. Thank you for posting, that was an outstanding video.
  14. Not model building but my small wood lathe is in the closet in the spare bedroom.Close the door and no ones the wiser.
  15. Sharpies of other colors work well on chrome for an anodized look.
  16. Everything......it's been one of "those" days......
  17. Sorry,I got nothing......
  18. If I get in a slump I get a different kit out and sometimes that does it and if not, I put it all away and get back to my wood lathe for a change of pace. After a few weeks of turning pen's I go back with a fresh eye.
  19. This is a nicely built kit for sure but no engine pic's? Or is it a curb side with lots of chassis detail?
  20. I dident want to engage him any more than I did,I just smiled and went on my way.
  21. Ok,I went to a flee market(I need more flees lol) and an older guy had some kits on his table.I was interested in a 70 (71 ?) duster. The car was assembled with at least 2 tubes of glue. The only thing that was painted was the body and it looked like it was dipped in a vat of ugly.Did I mention the hood was glued shut and the roof was crushed.I thought I would get it to save the chassis for parts but when he told me what he wanted for it I just set it back down, thanked him and walked away. The price for this masterpiece was 12.00$.Was I wrong thinking it was over priced? He also told how rare this 75 duster was.Dident have the heart to tell him he was wrong on the year and it wasent that rare.Sigh....ok I feel better now.
  22. I did leave that bit of information out dident I. I have been using a Badger 150 and 200 with the same issues.I had not thought about over thinning of the paint but now i can try adjusting the ratio and see where it takes me. It has been so humid here it may be a few days before get to do any painting but i will post what the outcome is.Thanks for the ideas.
  23. I have been using lacquer for painting models with my airbrush for quite a long time (4-5 ) years now.I have noticed lately that when I stop painting for a few seconds (Ok,10 to 20 maybe more) the paint in the nozzle is dry.I now keep a small amount of thinner handy to dip the tip in so I can continue spraying.I never had an issue until a few months ago.Anyone have an answer or ideas? Its making me almost dread getting the AB out.
