  1. FANTASTIC, Nick. as a Veteran of the US military, I believe I know what's going in that young man's mind right now. Thank you (as tears flow down my cheeks).
  2. That looks pretty nice, Mike. I'll have to search for the materials unless you might happen to have part numbers and sources. Hint, hint.
  3. I like that little black car, whatever it is.
  4. We went out to Chili's for dinner last night which gave us the opportunity to have air conditioning. After dinner we went o Wal-Mart to pick up a few items for Sunday breakfast. More AC..Filled up a 5 gallon jug with gas. Get home and am topping off the generator for another nights run, and the power comes on!! YEAH!! I'll be spending some time putting away the generator, extension cords, cutting the grass, cleaning the pool, and hopefully get some shop time. I've been in withdrawal for a week.
  5. Will power be restored by then? Fridge holds several envelopes of BMF, 2 or 3 bottles of water, and 4 cans of RC Cola. That's all. Really!! have safe trip south Bruce.
  6. Rod...I have no idea. It was posted here years ago, I have a small fridge in the shop, so I did it. I've some BMF for years stored in that fridge and have never had an issue with it.
  7. I remembered today that the fridge in the shop hasn't had power since Sunday. I store BMF in the fridge. Luckily the defrosted water didn't damage the shopping bag. I was able score a large ziplock bag from Marcia. Should be OK now. Just heard thunder. Lightening/rain will so down power restoration.
  8. Mailman told us yesterday that all the gas stations in Dunnellon had gas. Forgot to ask about lines. Gong out to Ocala today for a doctor appointment. Will be trying to fill a 5 gallon jug on the way home.
  9. Happy to hear you made it through Irma. Our power is still out and might not be on until Sunday or the Sunday after. Generator is working and we found gas yesterday. Cell service came back this morning.
  10. Sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad, Rich.
  11. Thanks fellas. Irma took our power and cell phones but we had no damage. Generator is running, found gas yesterday. Cell service came back this morning. Might have power back on Sunday.
  12. That really sucks! I enjoyed Ed's pics and even saved a few to my computer with the plan to print and frame them. Gonna miss you Ed.
  13. We made it through Irma with no damage other than small twigs and branches all over. Power went out 6:45pm Sunday and expected to be back on until Sunday 9/17. AT&T cell phones went out Sunday night to and they just came back this morning. No internet or TV until power comes back.
  14. Hold on. Are we talking about the guy that lived out in the desert?
  15. Magnificent build!!
  16. Neighbor up the street decided they're going to SC. Actually she decided and he's driving. I was able to borrow his generator for the neighbor across the street. Neighbor across the street had extra lumber so we boarded up the big front window of my house. Marcia feels better with the window boarded up. Happy wife. Happy life.
  17. After I finish a kit, I rip off the end of the box and make note of the paint I used. All build info goes into a Word file called "model bios" that includes paint and any modifications made. Stash inventory is a different Word file.
  18. Thanks Ray. Irma is looking worse and worse with every update. She moved to far west and will about right on top of us. If I'd have known this updated path, I would have evacuated. As it is, we hunkering down and praying for the best.
  19. That doesn't sound good, Ray. Hang on tight.
  20. It doesn't really matter anymore if people want to evacuate. Gas stations are closed because there's no gas. The roads out of FLA are slowly moving parking lots and it gets worse as people get close to the GA border where those folks are evacuating. The only choice is to hunker down and ride it out. We have plenty of gas for the generator and cords strung out through the house; yard projectiles have been removed and stored; lots of water, food, wine, Jim Beam & RC Cola.
  21. Very nice. Hint - paint the exhaust tips black.
  22. We've done everything we could to get ready. Now it's just a waiting game. We'll probably lose power so I won't even be able to work in the shop.
  23. Pay it off and be done with the scumbags. You should save some money on interest too.
  24. Thanky Max. Thanks Dann. I should have done more like like massive tubs. Net time.
  25. Sweet, clean. and SHINY . Beautiful build.
